The USDA released the June crop report this afternoon, showing that Vermont producers had a strong season and still make over 50% of the US maple syrup crop. USDA’s June crop report notes total 2026 US maple syrup production of 5.877 million gallons and total Vermont production of 3.091 million gallons, or almost 53% of the US total. These values represent a slight 3% increase over the reported 2025 US maple production and a 2.7% increase over the reported 2025 Vermont maple production. According to USDA reporting, Vermont maple production has grown a staggering 572% over the last two decades - growth that is fairly unique among most agriculture and forestry sectors.
