Yes, they have other pools. But they much prefer fighting over space in this one.

It's faint, but can you spot the rainbow? It started raining out of nowhere for like 2 minutes and I dropped what I was doing in the kitchen (literally dropped the knife on the floor, oops 😅) to run outside to look for a rainbow 🌈
I'm counting the tiny bit of rain as good enough for watering the plants tonight and it gave us a small reprieve from the intense heat 😊

This little spider friend makes a web across the chicken run door every night. And I feel bad every morning when I open their door and it breaks her web. I'm always impressed to see her out there rebuilding it every night.
Well the door swings both ways and for some reason, this morning I opened it the opposite way. And promptly destroyed the web with my face instead of the door. I'm not appreciating her tenacity so much today 😅

My Bible app has a verse of the day that it sends me every morning and this was yesterday's verse. Great reminder to lean on Him during the good and troubling times.

This is a calendula flower from my herb bed. I have been picking and drying them all summer to infuse into an oil for putting in soaps or salves. It is known to be really nourishing for the skin. Plus it's just pretty 😍

I'm having a tomato basil salad for lunch, a summertime favorite 🤤
There's also one jar of pickles left and some pepper jelly I made this week.
