Fun fact, a standard large chicken egg weighs 2 oz.

I'm going to start weighing all my huge eggs and see how big we get up too. This one is 3.2 oz and I'm sure will be a double yolker 🍳

I call my 4 year old Eagle Eye because she is always finding things no one else would see, especially bugs.

She found this guy under a leaf in the middle of the yard.

Luckily she didn't touch it, because it is a White-Marked Tussock moth caterpillar. They are not venomous but have stinging barbs that can cause extreme e rash and skin irritation. They are a big food source for birds and bats absolutely help break down organic leaf matter.

I am loving learning the good and the bad about all these plants and creatures we find around the farm!

I think it's time for a bigger pool! Literally like a week ago they all fit in there fine. Where did my tiny babies go??...

Good morning and happy

☣️Toxic-Free Tuesday☣️

All-Purpose Cleaner

Equal parts white vinegar and filtered water
Citrus peel or essential oil

Mix it up.

That's it. This one is simple as can be. Vinegar is an awesome natural degreaser and you can customize the scent with citrus or a few drops of oil. Using filtered water is recommended as tap water can grow bacteria. This is best used on non-porous surfaces, avoiding natural stone and granite that will absorb the vinegar.

I had a yard sale this weekend and was visited by this beautiful Great Spangled Fritillary 🦋
I think the bright colors at the toy table drew it in.
These butterflies love to feed on nectar from various flowers but in their caterpillar form, feed solely on violets. These caterpillars actually hatch in the fall and sleep in leaves all winter with no food.
I am loving learning fun facts about these butterflies and hope you are too!

Waiting can be so hard, but is so important that this verse says it twice.

I have dreamed, wanted, and waited over 10 years to open a farm stand and the time has finally come! Praying it does well, brings people joy, and is a good learning opportunity for the girls as they grow.

Wait and trust in the Lord's timing, He always provides!
