Date night out in beautiful Brown County, Indiana.

Our county is known for its beautiful fall colors and people come from miles around to visit the state park here in October 🍂

First little fire of the season. Brrrrr, it's chilly. At least the birds don't seem to mind! Crazy ducks are swimming 😂

Last pretty bouquet of the season. I'm ready to relax but the end of garden season is still always a little sad.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Last luffa update, with them in the green gourd form anyway! They are calling for our first frost in the morning so I have the lettuce covered in the cold frame and had to get the last of everything else in.

Watch to the end to see my final haul and luffa count!

If you are local and need luffas, please let me know!

Let's talk chicken gut health. No one wants a poopy butt and if something as simple as a natural herbal supplement can help, I'm all in!

My girls have been gobbling this product up in their food and I feel like preventing gut health issues is even more important in this ever changing weather swings we've been having here.

Full disclosure, I did receive this product as a gift in exchange for this honest video review. After a little over a week, one of my other girls that hasn't quite acted right for some time seems to be perking up and I had cleaned Billina's poopy butt after filming and it hasn't re-emerged yet 🤞🏻

If you squint just right, you can make out some deer in the fog. Love the changing leaves 🍂

While continuing on in our luffa peeling adventure, we had a little friend join the fun. He stuck around for the peeling, hosing down, and deseeding. What a true dedicated member of the team. Far more dedicated than the kids 😅

Thank you for all the feedback and tips on my luffa video! I got the hang of it and got 12 that were ready done. The rest will have to come in soon, ready or not, because we are getting our first real cold snap this weekend.

Let's get our first ever garlic planted! 🧄

This has to be one of the easiest crops. I'm not sure why I haven't tried it before. But this is our year! Garlic is planted in the late fall for a mid summer harvest (at least in Indiana). I've always heard plant at Halloween, harvest at July 4th.

The girls loved helping with this one and it made it really nice to plant in our new raised bed from Chonsun. No rough edges and off the ground which kept the girls relatively clean. We are still loving this raised bed and I'll link it again in the comments.

Watch me ramble about peeling luffas 🤣 Anyone who has grown them before, what tips and tricks do you have?
