I know when I first saw these I was like what the heck could I do with that?
Well.. I found a recipe.. 😏

🍖 Cross-Cut Shanks — Fall-Apart Beef Shanks

Ingredients

* 2–4 cross-cut beef shanks
* 1 onion, chopped
* 3 carrots, chopped
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 cups beef broth
* 1 cup diced tomatoes
* 2 tbsp tomato paste
* 1 tsp salt
* 1 tsp black pepper
* 1 tsp Italian seasoning
* 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

1. Season the shanks generously with salt and pepper.
2. Sear them in a hot skillet for a few minutes per side. Don’t skip this if you have time—it adds SO much flavor!
3. Put the onions, carrots and garlic in the bottom of your crockpot.
4. Add the shanks.
5. Mix together the beef broth, tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire and Italian seasoning. Pour over the shanks.
6. Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours, or until the meat is falling off the bone.
7. Serve over mashed potatoes, egg noodles or rice and spoon that amazing gravy over the top. 🤤

And save those bones! The marrow in cross-cut shanks makes the cooking liquid incredibly rich.

I spent the day yesterday restocking our freezers! 🥩🧊

It’s officially that time of year when a roast in the crockpot makes for one of the easiest AND best dinners! 😋🍲

And let me tell you… WE ARE LOADED WITH ROAST! 🙌

But I have to tell you about MY FAVORITE crockpot meal — cube steak with cream of mushroom soup, served over mashed potatoes! 🤤🥔

It is SO easy, SO good, and we have LOTS of cube steak stocked up too! 🙌

And don’t forget about the BRISKET! Whether you want to smoke it, slow cook it, or make it the star of a weekend meal, we’ve got you covered! 🥩🔥

So come stock up and make dinner a little easier this week! ❤️

Oh—and I also have a couple extra Mooville milks hanging around! 🥛🐮

We’re back out in the fields! 🌱🚜

After chopping our corn silage, we’re already thinking about the next step — taking care of the soil that takes care of us. ❤️

We’re planting cover crops to help protect the soil from erosion, keep something growing in the ground, and help maintain the health of our soil for the seasons to come.

Farming isn’t just about what we harvest today… it’s about taking care of the ground so we can keep growing for years to come. 🌽🌱

Some days I have a whole list of things I should be doing… and somehow I end up doing 27 other things instead. 😂🐄🐖

Farm life doesn’t always look pretty, but it sure is rewarding! ❤️

We’re busy behind the scenes getting things ready, taking care of the animals, keeping the store stocked, and doing all the little things that keep Peacock Farms moving.

And yes… we still have LOTS of good stuff in the store! 🥩🥓🐖🥛
