This year is shaping up to be incredibly difficult for farmers and ranchers across our state.

We’ve been watching wildfires burn on and off for weeks now. The loss, the devastation—it’s gut-wrenching. On top of that, we came out of winter with little to no moisture. Snowpack levels are alarmingly low, and projections are showing there may only be about 25 days of water available, with maybe 10 more depending on runoff and spring conditions.

Agriculture is already an industry that demands everything you have—physically, emotionally, and financially. Years like this don’t just make it harder… they push many to the edge.

Our state needs prayers, rain, and a whole lot of miracles this year.

And just as a reminder—before assumptions get made—about 95% of farms in the U.S. are family-run operations. These are families doing everything they can to hold on, feed communities, and keep a way of life alive.

If you know a farmer or rancher, check on them. Support local when you can. It matters more than most people realize.

Being named a Top 3 Woman in Agriculture in Nebraska isn’t just a title—it’s a reflection of the life we’ve chosen to live.

It’s early mornings in the barn.
Late nights checking livestock.
Boots that don’t come clean and hands that show the work.

It’s raising premium lamb with intention, caring for every animal, and standing behind the food that feeds our community.

It’s running a farm, managing horses, building a business, and still finding time for the laughter and grit that’s carried us through 17 years together.

Why do we eat lamb on Easter?

Still trying to put this into words… I was selected as a Top 5 Woman in Ag in Nebraska by Beck's Hybrids, and I am beyond honored.

This life isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. Every early morning, every late night, every decision we make comes back to one thing—stewardship. Taking care of our land, our livestock, and the responsibility we’ve been given.
