One of the most important steps when making goat milk soap is freezing the milk first. When lye is mixed with liquid, it creates a lot of heat. If I poured lye directly into fresh goat milk, the sugars and proteins in the milk will scorch, and cause the soap to turn dark, develop an unpleasant smell, and lose some of the qualities that make goat milk soap so special. By freezing the milk into cubes, I can slowly add the lye while keeping the temperature low, helping preserve the creamy color and skin-loving benefits of the goat milk. โ˜บ๏ธ

When you buy fancy alfalfa pellets to help put some weight on a doe and she decides they're absolutely unacceptable.
Meanwhile she's over there sorting through her grain one bite at a time like she's judging a cooking competition and leaving every single pellet behind.
Goats. They're either starving or suddenly food critics. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ

If you could only grow one thing in your garden this year, what would it be?

For me, it would probably be tomatoes. They're one of the most versatile things we grow and nothing beats a fresh tomato picked right off the vine.

Let's hear your answer! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Trying something new this year.

We planted grapes! It'll be a while before we're picking fruit, but you've got to start somewhere. Looking forward to watching these little vines grow over the next few years.

So excited! ๐Ÿ˜

Well, Spring 2026 kidding season is officially over.

We had 8 does kid and ended up with 18 babies total. 11 bucklings, 7 doelings, and not a single loss. I'll take that all day long.

Not gonna lie, by the end I was really hoping for a few more doelings, but I think God had other plans. This year has been a good reminder that sometimes things don't go the way we want them to, but they go the way they're supposed to.

We're trying to downsize a little, so maybe all those bucklings were part of the plan after all.

The ones staying here are ร‰toile's buckling, ร‰toile's daughter, Cheyenne's daughter, Libby's daughter, and Machi's daughter.

Now it's time to enjoy the babies, watch them grow, and maybe get a little break from kidding season chaos for a while.

Thank you, Lord, for healthy moms, healthy babies, and a safe kidding season.

Enjoy this little video recap of our season and all the cute babies that kept us busy the last few months.

Good morning everyone. Due to unforseen circumstances no open store hours today. I truly apologize.
Milk customers, I still have your milk available and I will be contacting you.
Please help me spread the word by sharing this post. Facebook isnโ€™t always the best about that.
