I’ve been making cheese curds pretty regularly around here and they’ve definitely become one of those things I need to keep stocked, both for the store and myself 😁

So now I want to know what you guys are actually doing with them.

Are you eating them straight out of the container? Putting them on something? Cooking with them?

Because apparently my preferred method is opening the fridge, seeing them sitting there and eating a handful. 😂

They're just so good! 😋

One of my favorite parts of growing a garden… filling the shelves with food we grew ourselves.

Homegrown green beans, canned and ready for winter.

Last but definitely not least is Dixie!

Dixie is one of our LaManchas and this girl MILKS.

She's still holding strong at almost a gallon a day, which makes her one of the biggest producers in my little herd.

She's also one of those goats that just does her job. She comes in, gets on the stand, eats her breakfast and gives me a whole lot of milk.

And yes, she really is supposed to have those tiny little ears. Nothing happened to them. That's just a LaMancha!

And this picture is Dixie doing another one of her jobs around here—being a pretty darn good mama.

When I talk about the girls behind our milk and skincare, Dixie is a pretty big part of it. Almost a gallon a day from one girl adds up to a whole lot of milk.

She's not quite the attention seeker Machi is, but somebody around here has to be the responsible one. 😂

Around here, everything starts with the girls in the barn. They're the heart of this farm, and I'm grateful for every one of them.

Bea takes her job as livestock guardian VERY seriously.

Unless there’s water involved. Then all professionalism is gone. 😂💦

Good thing she’s cute because I’m not sure the goats hired her for this. 😂

I stress about everything. 😂 And then God has a way of reminding me that He already has it handled.

God really does know what He’s doing. I just need to get better at getting out of His way. ❤️

I don’t even really know how to put today into words.

Thank you. Truly.

When I opened our little farm store, I had no idea what it would turn into. I just knew I loved my goats, believed in what I was making, and wanted to share a little piece of our farm with other people.

Today, seeing so many of you come out to celebrate with us meant more to me than you probably realize.

Every person who has walked through that door, bought a gallon of milk, grabbed a bar of soap, told a friend about us, shared a post, brought back a jar, or simply told me you believe in what I'm doing has helped build this little place.

There have been plenty of days this past year when I've been exhausted, overwhelmed, covered in milk, hay, soap batter or who knows what else 😂 and wondered what in the world I was doing.

And then there are days like today.

Days that remind me why I keep going.

Little Acres Farm isn't some big fancy business. It's me, my family, a bunch of spoiled goats and a little store on our farm that has somehow become something I'm incredibly proud of.

Thank you for choosing to spend your money here. Thank you for trusting me to feed your families and make products you use on the people you love. I don't take that lightly.

Most of all, thank you for allowing this little dream of mine to keep growing.

I'm tired tonight, my heart is full, and I'm just really, really grateful.

Thank you for an amazing day and for an amazing year. ❤️

So we've talked about where our goat milk comes from and why I love using it in skincare.

Now what happens once that milk comes inside from the barn?

Some of it gets set aside specifically for skincare.

From there, I'm the one doing the rest too. Measuring oils and butters, weighing ingredients, making the soap or lotion, pouring it, labeling it and eventually putting that finished product on the shelf.

And the testing doesn't stop with our milk either.

I test our lotions too. Just like I want to know what's going on with the milk we're producing, I want to know what's going on with the products I'm making. It's another step I take to make sure what I'm putting on my shelves is safe for you to take home and use on your skin.

The milk doesn't leave our farm, get turned into an ingredient somewhere else and come back to me. It goes from my girls, to my milk room, to my hands, and eventually into the skincare you take home.

And I think that's what makes these products so personal to me.

When you take home a bar of soap or a jar of lotion, you're not just taking home something I made.

You're taking home a little piece of our farm too.
