Hi everyone,
Weโve received so many messages over the past week and weโre sorry we havenโt been able to get back to everyone individually. We know a lot of people were looking forward to strawberry season, and unfortunately it does not appear that we are going to get the large ripening needed to fully open the patch to the general public this year.
The season has been hampered by a combination of poor pollination and frost damage. The record heat we experienced in March jump-started the blooming process, but the late frosts delayed removal of the frost blankets and ultimately hindered proper pollination. Our plants have a large number of incomplete and stunted berries.
We have been allowing a very limited number of visitors to pick as berries become available, but overall the patch simply has not produced the volume we typically see.
We truly appreciate everyone who supported us this season and are so sorry to disappoint anyone. Trust us, we are disappointed too. Farming always keeps you humble, and unfortunately this year just didnโt pan out the way we hoped.
Thank you all for the support, understanding, and kindness toward our small family farm. โค๏ธ
