Had my kitchen professionally cleaned today (thank you Laura!) and locked the alley door for the final time. Reaching the end of Act I is such a bittersweet feeling.

While this ***temporary*** break is necessary to rebuild the back end of the business — and so exciting for our family — it’s still tough to step back from the main reason I started in the first place: the actual COOKING for "the people" (as my daughter lovingly calls you all!)

For now, I’ll be focusing on the less glamorous behind-the-scenes work, but it’s going to allow me to serve your family better than ever in the long run.

The “sweetest” side this bittersweet moment is spending more quality time with our daughter, Salem. When I told her we weren't coming back to this kitchen, she asked, "why don’t the people want your food anymore?" 😂 hilarious, but so surreal — it feels like yesterday I was carrying her in here at a few weeks old to start setting up this space. Now she’s 4 and loves “cooking” in her play kitchen at work.

Getting to serve my own family dinner and spend this time together is a gift, and one I’m truly grateful for ❤️

Yard sale! 🍽️ Cleaning out my commercial kitchen today — so bittersweet! For my next chapter, I’m streamlining my packaging (along with a lot of other things!)

I’ve accumulated thousands of items: dessert cups, mini spoons, charcuterie cones, serving utensils, boxes, piping bags, trays, and more. I also have Nesco roasters and chafing dishes to pass along since I haven’t offered hot food delivery in around 8 years... probably about time 😂 Plus plenty of other odds and ends for foodies and otherwise.

Want to snag my very last Take & Bakes? Pull up at the Morris sign tomorrow at 9:30AM. I have a handful of French onion sliders, plus some of my harvest salad/loaded potato soup meal kits available…but it’s a first come, first serve type of sitch tomorrow! I can’t possibly keep track of one more thing 😂😂😂

I love that I got to wave to so many of you while I wheeled this order across town 🌽

Shout out to the countless people that make Corn Fest happen. Our family made amazing memories again this year, and I’ll remember wheeling this order across the festival forever 😂

Okay, got my head on straight.

In the rush of my final two weeks, I accidentally swapped the specials and made stuffed shells instead of soup & salad today.

My soup and salad people counted on a meal tonight, so they are getting one for free.

If you ordered for today, you should have received a text from me moments ago that I’ll be delivering stuffed shells to enjoy tonight, gift to a friend, or freeze — at no charge.

Next Tuesday, the 29th, I’ll have a fresh batch of stuffed shells for the folks who ordered them. But I’ll also have the soup & salad for those of you who ordered it for today!

Your soup and salad pickup/delivery will go on as planned, just one week from today.

I have a lovely community of foodies that show me kindness and grace through human errors — but I’m so excited to implement safeguards against silly things like this during my intermission.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and my apologies again for the mix-up!

😭😭😭 guys…I made a big mistake. This week was supposed to be soup & salad, and we made stuffed shells (next week’s T&B). I’m headed back to take a look at my lists and will be texting everyone. I’m crawling to the finish line and am so sorry for the error. Issues like this are one of the biggest reasons behind my intermission — it just shouldn’t happen — I’ll make sure it doesn’t again — and I’m so sorry 🥹
