NAN’S NEXT CHAPTER 📖
• Act I: 2016–2026 (9 years as best caterer, as voted by you!)

• Intermission: Beginning October 1, 2026

• Act II: Relaunch with a big announcement!

The short story: Nan’s Catering is taking an intermission starting October 1st, 2026! There is no set end date.

To be 100% clear:
• Nan’s is NOT closing.
• Nan’s is NOT selling.

Nan’s IS:
• Taking an intermission.
• Relaunching stronger than ever to serve you better!!!

The long story: As many of you remember, Nan’s began organically back when I was barely old enough to vote. As my small hobby grew into a real business, I pieced together what little I knew about running a business and tried to learn everything I could from people smarter than me.

For years, I’ve been running at full capacity — and for years, it’s been an absolute dream. But starting a family has shifted my perspective. I want to savor being a mom while building a stronger, better business behind the scenes: one run by a 32-year-old with 10+ years of experience, designed to serve your families even better!

Like any small business owner, I’ve compiled a mile-long list of things I want to research, test, and implement. However, it’s hard to do all of that while continuing to operate daily. Taking a break while I’m at the top of my game ensures I *stay* at the top of my game.

I’m so excited to get back to the creative side of what made food my passion, while making things smoother for you, more efficient for me, and built for real growth.

This upcoming transition is "my next baby." I trust my community, and I know my people will be right here just like you were when I took maternity leave four years ago. Could another local business try to fill my Take & Bake space while I'm away? Of course — and I wouldn’t blame them! A rising tide lifts all boats, and when I’m back, I hope you continue to support us all.

Serving your families has been a dream come true, but I can’t wait to serve my own family dinner while I redesign what serving you looks like for this next decade.

I know the timeline question will be a big one— but I’m very lucky to have the opportunity to recharge and rebuild without a ticking clock, savoring motherhood during these fleeting days. It’s a gift I’m deeply grateful for, and one I wish for every parent.

I’ll also be focusing a LOT of energy on a BIG project coming in Act II. I can’t wait to share but want to hammer all of the details out first!

While “Nan” is my nickname, this has been a family business from Day 1. My parents bought the groceries and serveware for my very first events, and my mom donated her time to this business for way too many years before I could properly pay her for her immense talent. My youngest brother, Ben, has been the sweet smile at pickups and the person behind your deliveries for years. My Dad and other brother, Patrick, have rallied with us to bring you Take & Bakes, catered events, holiday specials, and more without disruption — even through family passings, injuries, illnesses, and everything in between. Without them, this business is nothing.

To my husband, who encouraged me to jump into Nan’s 10 years ago and supports me in taking this step back: you are a dream. Thank you for every single gift I have in this life. What can I make YOU for dinner? 🤣

To the people who have spent their hard-earned dollars and special moments with Nan’s over the years: I’m excited to serve you better than ever. THANK YOU for supporting me! ♥️

I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes updates on “What’s New at Nan’s” along with a big announcement soon! When I’m ready to start booking again, I’ll let you alllllllll know.

Do you have a Nan’s gift certificate? While I’m fully booked for catered events, please use it on ANYTHING posted between now and October 1st. Otherwise, please SAVE IT for when Nan’s returns. If neither option works for you, shoot me an email: [email protected].

I’ll also be sharing a link to other great local caterers you can use in my absence in an upcoming post!

Nan’s will be back — and better than ever. ♥️

With immense gratitude, Annie
