It was an absolute joy presenting to the Elgin Garden Club on Tuesday at the Hawthorne Hills Nature Center! Thank you to everyone who attended, your kind compliments, enthusiasm, great questions, & delicious snacks. Special thanks to DeLaine for coordinating the presentation, the staff at the Hawthorne Hills Nature Center for their technical help, & to Rachel for her incredible talent & gifting me her beautiful story board drawing of my presentation & large leaf basil from her garden!

If your traveling near the Elgin area, be sure to add the Hawthorne Hills Nature Center to your stops! On the trip home, I made a stop at a great roadside stand called Funny Farms 🥰. I picked up some more pumpkins, squash, some very large Cockscomb celosia, & had a
delightful chat with Dawn who is in charge of the flower growing side of the farm.
It was a truly blessed day! ❤🍁🍂🍁

A little rain didn't stop these enthusiastic u-pickers!

A lot of flowers were thoughtfully picked to beautify homes & to gift some flower joy to others

The first frost is predicted to arrive Friday evening! We'd love to thank you all for your continued support of our farm by sharing the last blooms of our 2026 flowers🌼 & seeds with you to enjoy before the frost hits!
Join us in picking flowers, making bouquets, collecting seeds of milk w**d, celosia, zinnia, ageratum, sunflowers, lavender, rudbeckia, and more!

🌻Pick 2💐💐 bouquets. One bouquet of flowers for you and one to GIVE! We will provide you with everything you need. 2 cups to collect and transport your flowers to their final destination, water to keep them hydrated, and scissors to use for cutting.
🌻Free U-Pick in designated areas only
🌻U-Pick is by appointment only. Please text 815-325-1770 with your name, # of people, & day & time frame from the options above. You may arrive and u-pick at any time between your chosen time frame. U-pick generally takes 15 - 30 minutes.
🌻Kraft bags, envelopes, & pencils will be provided for seed collection
🌻Casual photos taken with a cell phone or 35mm camera are welcome (sorry, professional photography is not allowed outside). Share your experience and photos on social media and TAG Nettle Creek Lavender Farm
If there is thunder, lightning, or heavy rain u-pick will be postponed or rescheduled. U-pick will continue in the event of a light rain.
