Devine Gardens LLC Devine Gardens makes worm castings and other compost products for healthier plants, naturally. We are open by appointment. I love to garden.

Our Dexter cattle are an important part of the farm and we couldn't make quality, consistent composting products without them. In 2009 I found out about vermicompost and all the good things it does for plants. Since I started using it, my plants are healthier and more productive. My gardens have very few bad insects and a good amount of beneficial insects, earthworms, toads, butterflies, etc. Devi

ne Gardens vermicompost has a mild earthy smell, a texture similar to coffee grounds and is pleasant to work with. Our worms are fed precomposted manure with bedding from our Dexter cattle. The worms produce a wonderful soil amendment - plain and simple. Devine Gardens also produces and sells beautiful, contaminant-free compost. Our Dexter beef are moved daily to fresh pasture, one of my favorite jobs on the farm. It gives me a chance to observe how they're doing and their personalities. It also gives me a chance to observe the soil and the pasture grasses/weeds while getting fresh air and exercise.

Current situation of this flower bed. Since Dexter wants to be involved I decided to renovate it. In a couple of years when he calms down it will be filled with beautiful, healthy plants.

The first calf, a bull, got out of the pasture and was hiding for 20 hours! Luckily for us our eagle eyed daughter found it. Now he's trapped in a pen with his momma.
The second picture is of the steered calf and his momma who are also trapped in a pen because when he was born first time heifer momma walked away, didn't want anything to do with him. Even though he still was encased in his amniotic sack and couldn't breathe. Luckily, I was watching the birth, pulled the sack away from his face, rubbed him with towels, got him up and moving. Farmer friend came helped us get momma and calf in pen. Had to halter momma cause she was extremely rough to calf.
All is well now. They'll be in the pen a couple more days to bond well. Could never do this without my husband, family and friends🥰

These are the ladies in waiting, we're expecting between 5 and 7 calves during June. The black one is off by herself so I think she's starting labor. She's a first time heifer and will probably take a couple of days to progress. Always so exciting. Looks like we got them moved behind the house at just the right time!
