Next up in our new tea series: Lemon Notes 🍋 🎶

It’s the middle of October and the heat still won’t let go. We saw that coming, so we brought in a tea for it. Lemon Notes is a bright, citrusy blend with no caffeine and a natural sweetness of its own. It’s great iced after a warm day, and when it finally gets cold, a hot cup brings back a little of the summer sun.

Here’s what’s inside. Kumquat, a tiny citrus full of vitamin C that you eat whole: the peel is the sweet part and the inside is tart. Lemongrass and lemon peel give it that clean, fresh lemon note, and lemongrass is nice for digestion too. Then come two ingredients that surprise people. Carrot adds a soft natural sweetness, and wax gourd, also called winter melon, makes the whole cup light and cooling. In Taiwan and southern China, winter melon drinks are a summer staple for exactly that reason.

Put together, it tastes like a sunny day with a bit of fall in the background.

Next up in our new tea series: Warm Autumn. 🍂

There’s no tea leaf in this one. It’s brown rice and dark tartary buckwheat with pieces of pear, jujube and papaya, a little cinnamon, hibiscus, and a few coffee beans. It brews into a warm, nutty cup that tastes like pear and toasted grain, with a soft coffee note at the end and a gentle natural sweetness.

We were picking our fall teas back in July, in the middle of a heat wave, with the AC running full blast. We brewed this one, and for a few minutes it honestly felt like October. We didn’t need to taste anything else after that.

It’s with us for this season only. Best on a cool afternoon when you have nowhere to be.

Happy International Coffee Day ☕

This year we’re taking on a small mission: to introduce you to real coffee. Bold, we know. But our coffee is Italian: low acidity, full body, smooth to the last sip. Decaf works too!

And we’re celebrating with Italian chocolate from a maker with 150! years of history. Get any of our four new signature hot coffees (Date Night Coffee, Orange Honey Cappuccino, Bounty Coffee, or Cinnamon Roll) and the chocolate is on us. Italian coffee and Italian chocolate, the way they were meant to go.

P.S. A little story about one our drink.

About 12 years ago, in a small town in Russia, Sveta tried an orange cappuccino for the first time. Ever since, she’s been looking for that taste in every city and every country we’ve been to. Nobody got it right. Nobody had that soft hint of orange zest that goes so well with good coffee.

So she decided to crack it herself. We tried everything: zest in the portafilter, fresh juice in the finished drink, every orange oil we could find. We drank a ton of coffee and wore out every AI out there. Nothing.

Then, right as we were putting together our fall menu, it hit her. We tried it, and there it was.

The process turned out to be tricky for a small shop, but we decided to see it through. And now our menu has an Orange Honey Cappuccino with that exact zesty flavor.

The secret? Sveta isn’t telling. Not yet 😉 Come taste it for yourself.

Next up in our new tea series: Apple Cinnamon🍎

It’s Lapsang Souchong black tea with dried apples, cinnamon, longan and a little green cardamom. Open the bag and it smells like an apple pie cooling on the counter. In the cup it’s warm and round, with a natural sweetness from the apples and longan, so you won’t need any sugar.

We picked it because apples and cinnamon taste like fall back home for us. When the weather turned cold, there was always a simple apple cake on the table and someone putting the kettle on. We wanted a tea that brings that feeling back, and this one does.

It’s with us for this season only. Come by and at least smell it, the bag does most of the convincing.

We just got a batch of new teas, and we’d like to introduce each one properly, so we’re starting a little series, one tea at a time. 🌿

First up is Moroccan Mint.

One of our customers asked us to bring it in, so we did. After the first cup we understood why she wanted it.

It’s large-leaf green tea with plenty of real mint mixed in. Fresh and cool, with a soft sweetness at the end. In Morocco it’s offered to every guest, usually three glasses in a row, and saying no is considered rude.

It’s here for this season only. Come by and try a glass (we won’t take no for an answer either 😄), and take some home for your own guests too.
