Fancy Like Dairy Goats

Back on June 6th we went to the Southwest Dairy Goat Association show in New Mexico. We took a pretty random mix of goats, including Momma and Serenity, Togg milkers; Mona and Stella, Nubian milkers; Tsunami, our token Alpine milker; Taki and Valkyrie, LaMancha Jr. does; Vanity, a Jr. Togg; and Mini Mona. This was a one day show and it was a whirlwind! Vanity was Grand Champion Jr. Toggenberg doe in both rings. Taki, our yearling LaMancha, was Reserve Grand Champion in Dan Laney’s ring and Grand Campion under Chelsea Sachs. Our other ladies were competitive, but didn’t bring home the ribbons. It was fun going to a new show and meeting new goat folks!

MONA IS A PENDING PERMANENT CHAMPION!!! We really can’t express how excited we are about this. The Wyoming Dairy Goat Association show at the Wyoming State Fair was a great time! We had a heck of a time getting out to Douglas, with lots of challenges along the way and it was HOT. But it was awesome seeing all our favorite goat friends. We only took 8 goats. Overall, our girls were competitive. Mini Mona won Reserve Grand Champion Jr. Nubian in Erica Illg’s ring. Vanity and Victory each placed second in competitive Sr. Kid classes of Toggenbergs. Scarlet placed second and third in a competitive 2 year old Nubian milker class. And our Mona was Grand Champion and Best of Breed in front of BOTH Eric Illg and Jackson Noble. At nine years old, our beautiful matriarch has earned her retirement.

Tattooine found her new home

Fancy Like Tattooine is a 2025 tri-color doe who would make a great 4-H doe or addition to any homestead. She loves people and carries some great genetics.

AVAILABLE NUBIAN BUCKLING:

Fancy Like 50 Cent comes straight out of our keeper pen. He’s a Candyman great-grandson on the topside and goes back to Charleston Chew on the bottom side. This tri-color powerhouse has solid feet and legs and tremendous width. We made the decision to offer him only in the interest of keeping our number manageable. Three Nubian bucks is our limit and we have his sire on site. He’s going to be something special.

JNL Spartacus. This is a solid, correct 2yo buck. We brought him in to replace JNL Prince Philip, whose daughters make up the bulk of our herd. We only bred two does to Spartacus last year, and we love what we are seeing from his limited offspring. He has tons of potential!

Fancy Like Valor and Fancy Like Victory are both 2026 kids. They are weaned. Victory is the last daughter of the winning combination of JNL Prince Philip and Prairie Dust Farm Make My Day. All of the daughters of this breeding have performed exceptionally well in the Jr. showring. Victory has not been shown yet. Valor is the daughter of Fancy Like Sriracha and JNL Spartacus.

(SOLD) Fancy Like Temper Tantrum: Dry yearling. She has racked up some show wins, but has not year earned her restricted leg. She was grand champion and reserve grand champion in two of the four rings at the 2025 Colorado Summer Showdown. She is currently as big as her 2yo sisters and shows the success in herd management changes we made to add a little more size to our does.

(SOLD) Fancy Like Sriracha: 2yo first freshener in milk. Sriracha is a joy to be around. She adjusted well to milking and she shows well too. She was grand champion and best Jr. doe in show under under judge Katie Wolf Jackson at the Colorado Simmer Showdown in 2024. She earned her restricted leg as a kid, so was never shown as a yearling. We love her feminine appearance.

We have experienced how much more enjoyable shows are with 2 breeds rather than 3 or 4. We cut our Alpines last year. After taking a whole year to think about it, we have decided to disperse our Togg herd. Stay tuned for details. These goats are NOT culls. They are our show does and carefully selected bucks. We’ll also be offering a couple LaManchas, a couple Nubians, and the four Boer goats we retained from our last cut. Message us for more info. We may be traveling north to Ft. Collins next week and we will be traveling south to Stanley NM at the beginning of June.

We only brought home one ribbon from the 2026 Weld County Goat Extravaganza, but it was the most important ribbon of all! BR Promised Land Mona earned her second Champion leg under Kristopher Fraley. We loved reconnecting with our goat friends in Greeley!
