Spring planting update from Moon, WI. We are 100% planted on pumpkins and squash and 80% planted on sweet corn. It’s been dry the last few weeks but we received just over a 1/2” of rainfall last night which will help tremendously. Mums will ship next week and we will be planting those next when they arrive. The giant pumpkin plants are slowly coming along after a cold cloudy May but they are expected to ramp up pace now with the upcoming forecast. We added a bunch of new pumpkin and squash varieties this year that we’re excited to grow and offer. We have some new and exciting things in store for this year as well so stay tuned as we go along folks! 🎃🌽🍂🌸

Alright folks, the best tasting sweet corn in Moon, WI was planted today. Our #1 best selling variety that everyone loves. Right on schedule and smooth planting. We will continue to plant additional blocks as the month on goes on according to temperatures for spaced out harvesting. Pumpkin seeds will be planted in a couple more weeks already!🌽🧈🧂🚜

We are underway for giant pumpkin growing season 2026! The plan is growing two 839 Sandercock seeds and sibbing them during pollination. The two 839s will get 1,000 sq ft growing space each. We’ll have an orange genetic pumpkin for our 150 sq ft challenge and will try our first year growing a giant green squash with the 1867 Mathiowetz state record seed.🎃

Soil test results are back! We have a little bit of amending to do but overall not the worst. We will use a combination of gypsum, kelp meal, bloodmeal, alfalfa meal, phosphates, sulfate of potash, lime and some micronutrients to help balance all this out. Seed starting is next week! 🎃

April is officially here and that means giant pumpkin season is here. We were finally able to grab a soil sample today. We will get this sent out to the lab to see what our results are and what amendments we have to incorporate into the patch. We do patch rotation every year. Last year we grew sweet corn here and this year will be giant pumpkins.🎃

Spring is in the air! Just a couple more weeks and we will be starting our giant pumpkin seeds for this year. Lets start the season off with a giveaway.
