Our spring chicks were moved from the brooder to the coop with the big girls today! 🐥 🐓

At almost 6 weeks old, they are fully feathered and can regulate their own temperature now, which shouldn’t be a problem considering these 90 degree afternoons! 🥵

DID YOU KNOW that chickens LOVE crawfish?! 🦞💛
(Almost as much as we do!)

We feed all of our crawfish scraps to our chickens, and in a day or two, they’re all gone!

Don’t be surprised if your eggs over the next few weeks have a redder than normal yolk! This is just from the carotenoid in the crawfish shells absorbed in the chicken’s diet! Lucky for you, a deeper orange/red yolk is often associated with a higher nutritional value compared to pale yellow yolks. You’re welcome!
