When the Alabama heat gets too hot inside the hive, the girls head outside to hang out and help regulate the temperature. Basically… the bees said, “It’s too hot in here.” 😂

New video is up on YouTube! 🌿🐖

We’re still getting used to this whole being on camera thing 😂, but I really want our YouTube channel to feel a little more personal — less polished, more real-life farm days and the people behind Elli + Pine.

So today’s video is just a glimpse into a regular morning around the farm: feeding pigs, checking fences, chasing a few piglets who decided they had better plans for the morning… and all the little things in between.

Nothing fancy. Just our life here. 🤎

While the kids nap, I’m out here tackling weeds and making progress on the spot where our bees will call home. 🌿🐝 Soon we’ll move the swarm into their permanent hive, and it’s exciting to watch another piece of the farm come together one step at a time.

These girls have already decided they like it here. 🤎🐮

A little grain, a lot of curiosity, and soon enough they’ll be weaned off the grain and joining the rest of the herd out on pasture.

We’re learning as we go, building the herd one cow at a time, and loving every bit of this farm life. 🌾

Little hands, big jobs around here. 🤎

The boys are helping feed the newest additions while they settle in, but this is just the beginning. We’ll gradually wean them off the grain and get them transitioned onto pasture with the rest of the herd—where they belong. 🌱🐂

There’s something pretty special about raising cattle this way, and even more special about having the kids right in the middle of it.
