Doing things the traditional way isn’t always the easy way.

It takes more time. More work. More patience. And there are plenty of days when convenience sounds pretty good.

But we want our kids to grow up knowing where their food comes from. To know how to work with their hands, care for animals, make things from scratch, and find joy in a life that asks something of them.

We’re not trying to go backwards.

We’re just trying to hold onto some things worth carrying forward. 🤎

Apple picking, apple eating, hay bales, pumpkins, and a whole lot of little people running around. 🍎 We spent the day with good friends, came home with a bag of apples, and made the kind of memories I hope the kids grow up remembering.

Finally brush hogged the back pasture and uncovered approximately 47 years’ worth of trash. 🫠😂

Anybody want to come help us pick up trash? 😂 We’ll provide the fresh air, questionable working conditions, and the satisfaction of knowing you picked up someone else’s Sonic cup out of our pasture.

Rainy day on the farm, but the work doesn’t stop.

Adam set up a new training pen for the pigs to relearn some respect for the electric wire (this time with a much stronger charger 😅). The kids played in the chicken house, and the cattle did what cattle do.

Grateful for the steady soaking and the good it’ll do for the pastures. 🌧️🌾
