Today Dandy got a little extra attention. 🐴❤️ Our horse vet came out to the farm for a checkup and to help us put together a plan to get some weight back on him. We’re taking it one step at a time and doing everything we can to get this old boy feeling his best again.

Why throw it away when the chickens will eat it? 🐔 We feed our chickens just about everything left over that’s safe for them. They turn those scraps into eggs and manure, and that manure goes right back into the soil. Less waste, less feed, more production. That’s closed-loop farming. 🌱🥚

There’s something special about making it from scratch. 🍞 Mrs. Fugate Farms made homemade bread, churned homemade butter, and put together some homemade blackberry jam. No shortcuts, just good ingredients, a little work, and a table full of something worth sitting down for. ❤️

Chickens are chickens. They don’t need a swing set, a jungle gym, or a daily entertainment schedule to be “happy.” 😂 Give them food, water, space to scratch, dust bathe, forage and act like chickens—and they’ll do just fine. We don’t have to humanize everything we love. 🐔
