Smithville Farm

Smithville Farm Dedicated to the memory of Steven Smith known by many as The Bumbling Beekeeper at Smithville Farm. Dear Hubby is now The Bumbling Beekeeper at Smithville Farm.
(2)

I, Steven's wife and our oldest Daughter Rhiley will continue our honey business and continue to share beekeeping and farm info in honor of my Dear Hubby. We thought we would update our farm activities from the ones below that were our original start before we relocated from south of Tulsa. Our farm plan has taking a different direct these days after our move. But I wanted to leave our original en

deavors just to show how our farm has progressed. We now are the tenders of millions of honey bees. It is a fun new endeavor and our bees do great work making tasty honey and they give me lots of beeswax to make fun stuff. We have fun meeting new people at markets these days and hanging out outdoors. We still have alpacas and I always have fleece for projects and natural soil nutrients in the form of alpaca pellets and tea bags available. Activities have changed at the farm but we still enjoy all the great things you can do when you have fun being creative. (In the beginning) At Smithville Farm, we try to raise the friendliest goats, alpacas and rabbits for companion animals. We milk the goats and harvest the fleece from the alpacas. We also raise chickens, ducks, turkeys and quail, mostly from our own eggs and homemade incubators. We sell any extra birds that hatch. We custom incubate balut from duck and quail eggs when requested. We have also ventured into pigs.

We will NOT be at the Broken Arrow Swap tomorrow. 💛

But we will be taking orders for a meetup in the Broken Arrow area next week if you need something!

I apologize to those of you who were planning to come see us for honey tomorrow. We have never been ones to bail on a weekend setup. We were always somewhere every weekend, and it was easy to push through when I had the person beside me who brought so much joy to my life.

But to be honest, this month has been so hard.

Rhiley and I have tried to push through, even though we are missing Steven so much. But apparently four weeks of August being his birthday month is all we can take. I need this fifth weekend to find a little calm before we start all over again next week and move into the busy season.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we try to navigate this life—and this business—without the one who made it all worth it. ❤️

We don’t want to leave y’all longing for honey, though! So we will be taking orders for a meetup next week.

If you’re in the Broken Arrow area and would like to place an order and meet with us next week, just let me know. I’ll post our available products and prices in the comments. Send me a message through Messenger with what you’d like and a couple of days/times that would work for you, and I’ll do my best to group everyone into a time range on one or two days for the meetup.

Again, thank you for your understanding. This is a journey I never thought I’d be on, and apparently it gets harder as time goes on.

We just need this weekend. ❤️

Just an early heads up for all of our Broken Arrow friends. We plan to be at the All Things Farm Swap at the Broken Arrow Tractor Supply this Saturday August 29th 8 and - 12 pm.

We only get to do this one when there is a 5th Saturday in the month. So we wanted to let everyone know so they could plan ahead. We hope to see ya'll there.

🐝❤️ Happy Birthday in Heaven, Steven ❤️🐝

Today we celebrate the birthday of the man who was such a huge part of the heart and beginning of Smithville Farm.

Long before Smithville Farm became what it is today, there was Steven—the Bumbling Beekeeper. 🐝 He is my husband, my partner, and was my biggest supporter, and the one who helped make this little dream of ours a reality.

So many of you knew him as the Bumbling Beekeeper. You saw him at markets, talked with him about bees and honey, laughed with him, and became part of the story of Smithville Farm. He had a way of making people smile, and his presence became such an important part of what made our farm feel like more than just a business.

We miss him terribly.

We won’t be at the fair today on his birthday, but we still wanted to celebrate him and give all of you who loved him a chance to be part of his birthday.

At our market setup, we have a special book where we’ve invited anyone who knew Steven to leave a memory, a story, or simply a birthday wish for him. The first page says:

“If you knew Steven, please write a memory or a birthday wish. Our family will cherish it.”

And we truly will. ❤️

These are the stories and memories we will be able to hold onto when we miss him—the little pieces of Steven that live on in the people whose lives he touched.

So today, wherever you are, please help us celebrate the Bumbling Beekeeper. 🐝 If you aren't able to make it to the fair to leave him a message please feel free to post your stories and birthday wishes here on this post. We want to hear them all.

Happy Birthday in Heaven, Steven.

We hope you’re having an incredible celebration up there. We wish more than anything that we could celebrate with you here on Earth, but we are celebrating you today in every way we can.

You are deeply loved.
You are incredibly missed.
And you will forever be a part of Smithville Farm.

Until we see you again… ❤️🐝

Happy Birthday, Bumbling Beekeeper.

Come see us Sunday, August 16. We will be at the tractor supply in Bristow for the all things farm swap.

The swap begins at nine and it's going to be pretty hot so we're gonna try to make it until 12 but that is probably as late as we'll be there so hurry on by and grab your favorite honey.

We will also have our new chocolate lemon drop honey for everyone to taste. it was the last thing Steven was working on, so we finished it in his honor. Hope to see everyone there.

I wanna wish a happy birthday to our wonderful sweet daughter Rhiley. I know she is making her dad proud right now with how much work she is doing to help me keep our business going in his honor.

She has worked tirelessly to help me with planning, loading and unloading, and bottling honey like crazy. She has been my super helper, and I absolutely couldn't do this without her.

When she was born, Steven consider her his best birthday present since his birthday is five days later. Last year they celebrated their birthday together and we got these pictures. We will treasure them always.

Happy birthday, Rhiley you've been such a blessing to my life these last months I wouldn't be here without you. I love you so much and I know you're making your dad smile.

Come see us in Chandler at the Lincoln County Monthly Market this Saturday the 15th and wish Rhiley a happy birthday. 🎈🎁🎂 Oh and taste some honey, we will have Steven's special chocolate lemon drop honey with us. You need to taste it.

Today marks four months since the day we lost Steven. It’s been one of the hardest days yet, but instead of letting the tears stop us, my daughter, granddaughter and I decided to finish something that meant so much to him.

Just before he passed away, Steven had almost finished developing a brand-new honey flavor. He called it Chocolate Lemon Drop. He had been letting a few customers sample it at the market, making little adjustments, and was so close to putting it into production. He never got the chance to see it become a finished product.

Today, with the recipe he left behind and everything I remembered about his vision, we made it.

We hope we made it the way he imagined. We hope he’d be proud.

To celebrate Steven’s birthday month, we created a small batch of commemorative bottles that will be available throughout August. Each bottle is specially packaged with a honey dipper and little bee charm. The front label reads, “Happy Birthday Steven – The Bumbling Beekeeper,” and the back says, “In Loving Memory – Enjoy Steven’s Last New Creation.”

We were all so eager to be a part of this. From me making the creation, to Rhiley and I bottling it and Luna helping label and adding the bee charm. In the end Rhiley and I with a few tears added the final touches of the Happy Birthday and In Loving Memory labels. It was truly a labor of love and remembrance today.

These special bottles will make their debut this Saturday, August 1, at our first August market which will be in Drumright. Whether you’d like to experience the newest Smithville Farm flavor or take home a keepsake in Steven’s memory, we’d be honored to share it with you.

Thank you for continuing to love and support Smithville Farm through this journey. We can’t wait for you to taste the creation Steven almost got to share with the world. ❤️🍯🐝

If you knew Steven, we’d love to hear your favorite memory of him in the comments. We’d love to celebrate his birthday month by sharing those memories together.
