Update on Glenda 7.29.26
Dear Friends, Colleagues, Family, Students, and Supporters of Glenda:

We wanted to share another update on Glenda and thank you all for the incredible love, prayers, donations, and support. She is deeply grateful for every message, donation, and share. While she hasn't yet had the capacity to respond individually, please know she feels incredibly loved and appreciates everyone's kindness.
We're happy to share that Glenda was discharged from the hospital late Monday. She is now staying with family, where she is receiving 24-hour care and focusing on what matters most right now—rest and healing.

At this stage, rest is her top priority and her ability to function each day depends greatly on getting enough sleep and limiting activity as much as possible to allow her body to heal. While she is making encouraging progress, she is still recovering from a life-threatening brain hemorrhage and has a long road ahead. Her doctors are continuing to adjust her medications to best meet her needs during her recovery process and provide as much support as they can as she experiences difficult but temporary side effects of her brain bleed. At just over two weeks out, it's expected that she won't be back to herself yet as there is a minimum of 2-3 months of recovery time for her condition.

Thank you for continuing to keep Glenda in your thoughts and prayers and for continuing to share her fundraiser. Your generosity and encouragement continue to ease the burden and allow her to focus on healing. We are so grateful to have you walking alongside her during this journey.

Update on Glenda 7.24.26:

Hello Everyone,

We wanted to share a quick update on Glenda and thank you all for the incredible outpouring of love, prayers, donations, and support. Glenda is truly grateful for everyone who has reached out, donated, or shared her fundraiser. Your kindness has meant more than words can express.

We are thankful to share that Glenda's condition has stabilized, and her doctors have successfully stopped the bleeding in her brain. Her shunt has been removed, and, thankfully, she has not sustained any permanent damage. Her medical team continues working to manage her pain and support her recovery.

While this is encouraging news, Glenda still has a long road ahead before she can return to work. Please continue to share her Support page and keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Every share and donation of support helps ease the financial burden while she focuses on healing.

Thank you for standing with Glenda during this difficult time. Your generosity and encouragement continue to make a tremendous difference.

_____________________________________________________________
Glenda suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage which is a life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding in her brain Wednesday while eating lunch at home. Given her critical condition, she was immediately transferred from Frederick Memorial Hospital to the Neuro Critical Care Unit at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. We are very fortunate to still have her with us as that is not always the outcome in this situation.

Doctors placed a shunt in her skull to drain the blood and spinal fluid in an attempt to decrease the pressure on her brain. They are attempting to stop the bleeding and pinpoint the cause. She does not have brain damage however her symptoms and condition continue to fluctuate by the hour. She is extreme pain and expected to remain in the ICU for at least three weeks, followed by a long recovery period that will require rehabilitation and in-home care.

As many of you know, Glenda has dedicated her life to Playland Equestrian Center. She works tirelessly seven days a week, caring for the horses, supporting her clients, boarders, and students, and sharing her passion through teaching and training. Unfortunately, teaching and training are her primary source of income which she substantially relies on to maintain the farm, and she will be unable to work during her recovery.

While Glenda's wonderful staff is continuing to care for the horses and keep the farm running, the expenses of maintaining the farm, staff wages, and household bills continue in addition to the medical bills she is accruing.

If you are able to help, any donation—no matter the amount—will help relieve the financial burden and allow Glenda to focus on healing. If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Glenda in your thoughts and prayers would mean so much.

Fantastic!

Allie won the 14-18 high point earning the gorgeous Harris Leather and Silverworks work saddle.
It’s an absolute stunner.

Maddie was reserve 14-18 high point all around earning a pair of Logan boots.

Linda, Vegas and Bertie all made the trip and had wins and placings to make us smile in the showmanship, horsemanship, equitation, western riding, trail, English versatility, halter AND hunter under saddle.

They even rode through the notorious Starbucks ride-thru with their leadline partners!

WEC is always a good time and we’re happy to be proud of our horses and home for a well deserved restful break.

Congratulations to everyone who participated!
