Second Saturday is always the day when we celebrate our members a little extra but this Saturday we appreciate our members on a whole new level:)

A few months ago, some of our incredible members approached us with the idea of painting scenes of Black Ankle together every week as a part of an 'en plein air' series for their painting group. We were so excited to have them come and paint and are even more excited that their paintings are finally ready for the world to see.

Come and check out the first ever member-artist only Black Ankle Art Show this Saturday! Look at the paintings, sip some wine and mingle with the member community here this Saturday. The paintings will be displayed around the tent on the lawn so feel free to walk around and take them in on your Saturday visit. The tent will never be as nicely decorated again:)

First up in our Rose collection is our 2024 Rose!

This is our first time featuring Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Tempranillo from Live Edge Vineyards — and it was worth the wait.

The nose is captivating with wild strawberry, blueberry, lilacs, and a fresh herbal lift.

On the palate, it opens into juicy lychee and bright tangerine, finishing with the most subtle touch of spice.

American Kestrel 🪶

American Kestrels are the smallest of the falcons in North America. They nest in cavities and hunt in open fields and meadows which makes Black Ankle a paradise for them! We love having them around to help control our sparrow and field mouse populations.

American Kestrel populations have declined almost 30% since the 1980s so we’re always thrilled when we we see one set up house in one of our nest boxes. We love that this place is a respite to humans and animals alike. :)

2019 Black Ankle Estate is taking its final bow.

You won’t find her on the tasting room menu anymore, and on May 1st this vintage will quietly disappear from the web store.

If you’ve loved this wine, or have been meaning to try it, now is the moment. It’s still available on our website through Friday…and then she’ll slip back into the cellar!

A wine this lovely never really leaves. But it does become harder to find.
