Happy World Cider Day all! 🍏🍎🥂 Just a quick Timeline for Hard Cider Happenings:

🍎55 BCE: Julius Caesar discovered Celtic Britons fermenting crabapples. The Romans subsequently spread apple cultivation in Europe.

🍎1600-1800s American Colonies: Because raw water was frequently contaminated and hops were difficult to grow, hard cider became the primary source of hydration over beer.

🍎 1860-80s: Cheap, grain-based drinks like beer start to replace cider in urban markets.

🍎1920-1933: Following Prohibition in the US, the cider market almost completely disappeared.

🍎 1982 Geoff Deen was born. Cider is back, baby! By 2015 Deen makes a small batch from fresh-pressed cider that his family has been making over 70 years, and the rest is history 😉

A BIG Thank You from us at Hardball for all who came out to celebrate seven years at the farm! Kyle Baker duo and Blue Jean trio for keeping us rocking all day. Chefs Tommy and Dennis The Taste Budz Food Truck who CRUSHED it all day long and had to run for more food- many rav reviews about how fresh the food was.

And all the family and friends who continue to support us and enjoy their weekends lakeside each year. Love this tradition and getting to see familiar faces.

7 years goes by in a blink 😉 Wasn't it only yesterday we opened that taproom with clipboards on the wall and packaged the cider one tedious bottle at a time?

Come and celebrate today May 16th with LIVE MUSIC all day! 🎸 2-4pm is Blue Jean Rock Trio then 5-8pm is duo rocking as the sun goes down.

🍔 🌮 FRESH made to order eats from starts at 1pm. Try the shrimp tacos, they are to die for! Wash it down with one of our 14 flavors of hard cider, five different beers, wine, or Grape wine SANGRIA: 🍑🥭 PEACH MANGO or TRIPLE BERRY over ice.
