Well it is spring time and with that comes storms and the breeding season…so picture this: spring storm…damaged fences…rush home from your “real job” to start your “second job” ranching….get things sorted….bull (Fredward) decides to fight with the neighbor’s bull….breaks fence….admittedly loses fight….escapes neighbor’s pasture….hubs and 70 year old dad muddog Fredward toward the house….gator gets stuck….walks Fredward 1/2 mile home…Non ranching sister is called to help (drama!!!)….cell service sucks because of the storm…finally mom comes to help…due to the storm, can’t get my electric gate closed, so park a big white van in the opening…Fredward thinks: Yes! I love tiny spots…Fredward goes toward the van and into the wrong gate….have to coax him out of my yard….phew! Fredward is pastured….wake up the next morning, Fredward is happily eating fresh grass in the horse paddock and has more textured feed than he could possibly eat….take off from work to fix fence…..go to put out hay for Fredward…Fredward is missing….walk two pastures, become a “fresh tracks expert”….find where Fredward has burst through a gate…Fredward is nowhere to be found…..last ditch effort, find Fredward in the barn….carry a square bale 1/8 mile to Fredward to coax him out of the barn (Fredward is not particularly friendly)….he refuses to come out of the barn….fastforward….Fredward is bawling because he doesn’t like being in the barn….and he refuses to come out….why do we do this again? AI is looking better and better….attached is my real life absence request, because if you know, you know…..
