Prairieview Farm

Prairieview Farm Prairieview Farm is a 73 acre former dairy farm located in the Mount Calvary area of Fond du Lac Wisconsin. Jane & Gary

In 2000 a native prairie restoration replaced the farm fields. Currently the average is about half prairie and half wetlands. Prairieview Farm is our 73-acre farm located in the Mount Calvary area of rural Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. Over ten years ago we began converting a major part of the farm’s acreage to native prairie and wetland restoration. Approximately five years ago we began vegetabl

e and fruit production with the goal of providing fresh produce to local markets. This has lead us to participate in farmers markets in the Fond du Lac area. Prairieview Farm produces chemical free vegetables and fruit utilizing natural and sustainable practices. In 2010 we erected a 26’X96’ Hoop House which will extend the season in providing produce both early and late in the year. We also added a small flock of chickens for egg production and to enhance crop fertility and sustainability. Prairieview works with a number of state and federal agencies in environmental projects and research activities. We are also Master Gardener Volunteers and participate in a number of civic and public service activities. In the spring of the year, we travel to Northern Wisconsin to participate in the Maple Syrup ritual that has been practiced by Jane’s family for the past forty years. The result is the ability to provide homemade Duck Lake Pure Maple Syrup at our farmers market stand. This year you will find us at both Saturday Morning and Wednesday Afternoon Fond du Lac Farmers Markets, as well as possible others. We enjoy the opportunity to meet people and provide healthy, naturally grown produce for customers who appreciate fresh, locally grown foods. We hope to see you there and please tell us you viewed our page. We will be providing updates and information on products coming to market for those who “Like” us here.
