I can’t believe it’s been almost one year since I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma and underwent my first surgery.
It has been a long journey and an extremely difficult year. Even almost a year later, some days are harder than others. No one really prepares you for how difficult it can be to adjust to living without a thyroid and depending on daily medication for the rest of your life.
Recently, my thyroid medication hasn’t been working the way it should, and I’m still going through the process of finding the right dose. Some days, just getting out of bed feels impossible. The fatigue can be absolutely crippling. I never realized just how much your thyroid affects your entire body until I had to learn to live without mine.
When I decided to start Valenti Confections this past March, I honestly had no idea where it would take me. I never imagined my little business would grow as much as it has in such a short amount of time. There have been plenty of days when I didn’t know how I was going to get everything done, but somehow, I kept going.
What started as a dream during one of the most difficult periods of my life has turned into something I’m incredibly proud of.
To everyone who has placed an order, shared my posts, recommended me to a friend, left a kind comment or simply followed along, THANK YOU. You have no idea how much your support means to me. You’ve helped me keep my dream alive, even on the days when I barely had the energy to get out of bed.
I’m so grateful for how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to see where this little business takes me next.
Here’s to another year of growing Valenti Confections, doing what I love and hopefully paying off some of these medical bills along the way. 😂❤️
