Just throwing it out there…
Any interest in a fully rooted and growing sweet mint (yerba buena) plant?
We’ve been propagating and growing them for ourselves but before much longer, we’ll be set.

Thinking something in the line of putting them in a red solo cup (🎶 I fill you up 🎶) with 4 healthy center stalks.
You transplant to their forever home of your choice.

*Warning: If you plant directly into the ground, have a means to keep it in control. It will spread.*

Priced at $3.00, mere pocket change compared to commercially source prices and of greater importance, knowing no chemical fertilizers were used.

Just asking, none are available right now. 🌱❤️

The blending experiments will start soon, name pending.
Elderberry Tea for now…

Dried ground elderberries
Chipped cinnamon
Chipped cloves
Dried roughly ground ginger
Dried roughly ground rose hips
Dried ground round hibiscus petals

Look them up, check out the benefits.

Now here’s the hard part…
Not everyone likes the spiciness that ginger can bring.
Some don’t like the flavor of hibiscus.
Rose hips can be a bit tangy (elderberries are too though).

If we can get the blend right, bringing the healthy components of those elements together, we’ll have tasty cold season powerhouse in a cup.

People want things that can maintain and help restore health but, they want it to taste good.
So do we.

We want it for us and once it’s right for us, then you can see if it’s right for you.
That’s the peace of mind you get with our products.
They’re not things we’re just throwing together for sale. They’re items we make for us.
You get the benefits of the work we put into the items.
From our family to yours. 🌱☕️❤️

So before I give my review on the chicken and sausage gumbo using the fresh sassafras, let’s give those that don’t know the WHY it’s used…

Goggle says…
Why Filé Powder Is Used
For Thickening: Filé acts like a silky thickener, giving the broth a smooth body similar to cornstarch or okra.

Flavor: It gives the gumbo an earthy, woodsy taste with hints of eucalyptus and root beer.

History: The Choctaw Native Americans originally dried and ground sassafras leaves to thicken soups long before European settlers arrived.

With that, the review…
Really tasty and spot on but, cut your amount in HALF of store bought filé. Definitely much stronger on it’s ability to be a thickening agent.
To the degree that you think a bunch of fresh cut okra was in there. You know what that’s like…”silky”.
Yeah, that’s the word. 🤣
Flavor maybe was slightly earthier but I’m reaching on that. Never gotten “hints of eucalyptus and root beer”…ever.

Fresh is still a winner, just use less. 🌱❤️👍🏻

Put that fresh filé powder to work. Pecan smoked chicken and Richard’s (pronounced Reshard’s) andouille gumbo.
