I don't usually post workout updates, but this one meant a lot to me.
After more than 25 years away from riding a bicycle, I finally decided it was time to get back on one.
The first ride was around my yard for about 5 minutes. I was nervous, winded, and wondering if I'd made a mistake.
Fast forward to today...

🚴 First ride at this trail on 7/6 :
• 3.07 miles
• 35:37

🚴 Today's ride:
• 4.19 miles
• 44:13

That's over a mile farther and a little faster, too.

I still have a long way to go. My legs burn, I'm learning something new every ride, and I'm definitely not setting any speed records. 😄 But I'm improving, and that's what matters.
A few years ago, when I weighed over 400 pounds, I never would have imagined I'd be riding a mountain bike for fun. Losing weight opened the door, but choosing to keep moving is what's helping me walk through it.
If you're just getting started on your own journey, don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle. Celebrate the small victories. They add up.
