Thank you to all of the buyers this year that supported us and have faith and believe in our goats. We do have a few doe kids that could go to new homes but I would be happy to keep them and grow them out.

Tomorrow is the big day! We look forward to seeing you at the open barn. Just wanted to touch base and say the types of payments accepted tomorrow. Cash, check, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle. There are going to be some February and March kids here also for those that are looking for nice later born goats for the later fairs or state fair of Va.

We didn’t wash the goats for Saturday but we did blow them out and clip on a few. It got cold and dark so we stopped for the evening. All wethers are done the doe may get to go natural.

It’s raining again. We are going to try to get some of the Dec kids clipped up this week but with temperatures swinging around I don’t want to take the chance on sick animals going to their new homes. Looks like it will be dry this weekend look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. See you Saturday.

We are a week away today!!!just a quick recap of the open barn next weekend from 12 to 4. There are over 20 goats available that are weaned, banded and ready to go home with you that day. They will be in pens of does and wethers and prices will be posted on the pens. No pressure buying no bidding and no question as to what the prices is going to be. There are some younger kids available but they will not be weaned and ready to leave yet but you can still look and deposit for state fair of Va or later shows in the fall. There are also some yearling does available if your looking for a doe to take home and breed.

Things I learned on this just wonderful Friday the 13th. Even if a goat kid is born healthy and strong you can have under laying problems such as white muscle disease. I will alway give new born kids a Bose shot when they are born even if they seem strong. First case of white muscle on a bottle baby from Wednesday night and lost the kid this morning. Lesson learned the hard way.
