Our Story
T & A FARMS – FRESH PRODUCE T & A Farms started with Tyler Bauman as Tyler’s Homegrown Produce when Tyler was 6. He grew a few tomato and pepper plants and sold them at a stand in front of his house on 999. As Tyler grew, so did his business. In middle school, Tyler met Alex Cantey. They formed a strong friendship through the years over their mutual love of agriculture and their involvement in Penn Manor’s FFA Chapter. Alex also started a produce stand at his house on 999, and he and Tyler would continually help each other out. As both their operations grew, it became difficult for them to manage individually, so in 2013 they joined forces and started T & A Farms LLC. Today, our mission is to raise quality produce at an affordable price to the consumer. We deal with wholesale and retail customers and are always trying new methods of farming that will benefit both the environment and the return on the crop. One of these methods is plasticulture. Using plastic film 4 feet in width formed into rows with drip irrigation underneath, we are able to control weeds and erosion and boost crop yield. The plastic acts similar to mulch to keep the weeds down and retain moisture in the soil. After 5 great years of partnership, Tyler started a new venture in York County, buying a chicken and field crop farm, and Alex continued the produce operation, with his wife, Anissa, becoming the new partner in T & A Farms. Alex and Anissa will continue to farm ground in Lancaster as well as York County, growing produce to sell at the self-serve market on 999, as well as a new on-farm market at their home in York, PA. We hope through hard work and faith in God we can continue to grow and expand our business. Thank you to our customers for your continued loyalty and support in helping us to achieve our dreams!
