I’ve put a few “test run” eggs in the incubator from one of our pens that we haven’t hatched from in a while, AND from a new pen we just put together.

They hatched and I’m so stinkin’ excited I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.

I’ve got a handful of mottled Orpington chicks and grey/grey laced silkie chicks that are drying and fluffing up now 😍 oh they are precious cute!

Whew. These birds have gone quickly!

All we have left are:

2 silver laced Wyandottes
1 black australorp
1 Rhode Island Red
1 Easter egger

2 splash silkies
1 chocolate showgirl
6 babies left that either go with a momma and continue being raised in the yard, or can be purchased separately and raised in a brooder; some silkies, some showgirls, and some silkie/cochin crosses.

We also have 2 pekin duck hens available if anyone is looking (otherwise they can stay with Big John, our resident pekin drake, and keep him company and make “little” pekin babies for spring)

Update: mom and chicks went as a family. Still have a splash hen up and running and one splash hen on 6 fertilized and already growing eggs if anyone wants a shot at those.
And still have a handful of babies: a blue showgirl, a black silkie, a suspected blue cream satin silkie, a blue silkie, and one black cuckoo satin silkie chick.

Anyone want some super hearty, momma-raised-in-the-yard silkie and silkie mix chicks? Or their purebred silkie or showgirl mommas? 😅

One momma has 5 running with her and one mommas has another 8.

We also have brooder babies, silkies, showgirls, and some silkie crosses.

And don’t forget the laying hens!

Our mommas have been busy at work, one hen has hatched 5 babies and two more hens are working on 8 more eggs (and theyve successfully hatched one baby today as well!). ❤️🙌🏼 love my free ranging silkie mommas!!

Public slander deserves public accountability, but behind-the-scenes apologies and quiet deletions seem to be where some draw the line.🤷‍♀️

When false statements are blasted to almost 25,000 people, quietly deleting it after admitting you were wrong doesn't undo the damage—it just helps YOU feel better about the damage you created…

Anyway, we can all move on - we will continue to focus on our morals, our values, our community, and yes -our birds!🫶🏻

(And in the spirit of thinking of our community - we are in the process of getting a new giveaway together for our amazing community. It’s been a while and you guys deserve one!!❤️)
