An Update from the Dent Family ❤️
We have some good news and some sad news to share with our community, so we’ll start with the good news!
Earlier this month, we had the joy of celebrating Ian and Zoe’s wedding, transforming our barn into the most beautiful setting for their special day. This barn has been such an important part of our farm, and we were excited years ago to open it up as part of our Christmas light display.
We also have another exciting milestone coming this December as we welcome our (Joe & Krista) first grandchild, who will be Nancy’s first great-grandchild. ❤️ While our family is growing and entering a new chapter, we know we will be missing someone very important along the way.
Since Dad passed away in April, we’ve been asked many times about the future of the Christmas display. With heavy hearts, we have made the difficult decision that we will no longer be putting on the Christmas light display.
Dad put his whole heart into the display. Although he was always humble and quick to give his family credit, he was the one who dedicated countless hours and so much energy to making our farm a destination for families in our community. We simply can’t continue it without him. We miss him dearly, and we will miss being part of the traditions and memories so many families made here over the years.
We hope our little farm brought you some extra Christmas cheer and that you know how much it meant to us to be part of your holiday traditions.
We haven’t decided what we’ll do with the lights and display pieces yet, but we’ll share an update when we do.
Although this news may be sad, we hope it also inspires you. Over 40 years ago, we started small simply because it brought us joy to see Christmas lights shining on the farm. We never imagined what it would become. You don’t have to do something big to make a difference. Think about what you can do to bring a little joy to your own community. You never know what something small, done with love, might grow into.
Thank you for being part of our story and for all the kindness and support you’ve shown our family, especially these past several months. It means more than you know. ❤️
