🎃The countdown to pumpkin season is on!!🍂

Things are really starting to come together at Big John Acres Pumpkin Patch! Every trip through the patch seems to uncover something new — bright orange pumpkins hiding under the vines, beautiful white pumpkins filling out, and some really fun colors and varieties beginning to show themselves.

Even the corn is getting that fall look! 🌽

We’ve still got a few weeks of growing to go, but we’re excited about what we’re seeing and can’t wait to welcome everyone out to the farm.

🐄 Morning Check at Little Fort Farm 🌄

We had a little surprise waiting on us this morning — a brand-new Angus calf! ❤️ We’re guessing this little one was born sometime late last night or very early this morning. Baby was already cleaned up, and mama looked good and was doing exactly what she was supposed to do.

So I hopped on the Mule and made the rounds to check the rest of the Angus herd just to make sure we didn’t have any more new arrivals hiding somewhere. No other babies today!

Of course, while I was out there I had to go looking for the Highlands too. 😂 I finally found Petunia and Poppy tucked back in the woods, and after a little more searching, there was Ferdinand at the fence bellowing at some of our cousins’ cows on the other side. Apparently he had important business to discuss. 🤣🐂

I did get a little video of our new baby and mama, although she was keeping her distance and I wasn’t about to bother her. Sometimes the best thing you can do is check from afar and let mama take care of business.

Just a normal morning ride around Little Fort Farm — checking cows, hunting Highlands, and finding a brand-new life in the pasture. ❤️🐄

🎃 Big John Acres Pumpkin Patch — Tentative 2026 Dates! 🎃

We’re getting closer, and we’re excited to share our tentative October opening dates and hours! These dates will depend on the pumpkins and the rest of the patch being ready where we want them to be.

🕓 Fridays: 4 PM–8 PM
🕘 Saturdays: 9 AM–6 PM

And if Mother Nature cooperates and everything is ready a little early… 👀🎃 we may even sneak in an opening weekend at the end of September!
