In August, I was chosen to be a part of the Goldman Sachs 1 Million Black Women in Business Cohort #8 - the number of new beginnings😉. 313 Black Women CEOs in one room, praying, laughing, crying, and learning together. I'm still trying to find the words to describe the feeling. It was ahhhmazing!
Transparent moment:
This cohort challenged me to my core. Whew!! God was indeed processing ME through this process, and I am thankful for the journey. I had to dig deep to discover the source of emotions that would arise as reactions to the challenges I faced.
This experience challenged my confidence and made me second-guess my decision to be an entrepreneur. Talk about a mindset shift—I am definitely not the same! My action plan scares me not because it isn’t attainable but because it challenges my identity and what I need to change to become the entrepreneur I desire to be.
My perspectives regarding my business model, finances, and operations have changed. I now make decisions from a CEO standpoint instead of just an operator or owner. Mindset transformation is a daily, conscious act that I have fully subscribed to.
Growth doesn’t happen without transformation, and transformation doesn’t happen without change. Overall, this program has stretched me spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. The seed has been planted; now, the real work begins.
Thank you, Goldman Sachs, the NYU Stern School of Business faculty, and partners for requiring me to CHANGE - my mind and my actions—transforming me in just ten short weeks. Now, it’s time to grow!
