It’s been a rough week for Trout. 🥹 he had an abscess on his side, and it’s been a tough wound to heal. Long line of stitches and a cone were dr’s orders:( he’s one of our best farm cats, hunting rabbits and rats around the farm- definition of a farm cat. But he’s also a lover, always talking to you and stopping for a pet when you’re out in the field. So being inside, and being in a cone have really taken a toll on him mentally. You can tell he’s been depressed- we have him isolated in the bathroom, but he can hear every cat go outside through the dog door, so he knows what’s up. It’s also spring planting season, a time when a lot of ground critters get exposed. The poor guy got outside today and just wanted to smell the grass 😭 so we hung out for a bit, but he’s locked inside for a while longer. Tomorrow we go in the close the hole… again. 🤞
