We would like to take this time to thank everyone for their support over the holiday weekend at the Utica Ice Cream Festival. Despite all the adversities, we had a wonderful time and felt very welcomed. We feel very blessed for Velvet Ice Cream giving us the opportunity to participate and we look forward to many more. ❤️

We closed up for the day and will be back tomorrow. Thank you everyone who came out to show your support despite the yucky 🌧️. Thank you as well to Velvet Ice Cream for pivoting quickly with everything that was thrown their way. We know their decision did not come lightly and we appreciate them all for still allowing folks to come out. As for tomorrow, third times a charm! We will have perfect weather! 🤞

Hey everyone! This weather is something else!! Although the ice cream festival was cancelled for today due to the weather, WE WILL STILL BE HERE!! We are open here at velvet and ready to serve you our delicious ice cream cookie sandwiches! The car show is also cancelled but the Ole Mill is still open, and parking is free for those that want to come out today. The rain has stopped for now 🙂 🤞.

Join us at 11 a.m. for our festival kickoff parade, then stick around for a full day of family fun, entertainment, community celebration, and, of course, plenty of great tasting ice cream!

Velvet Ice Cream and Utica Ice Cream Festival Celebrate 50th Anniversary!

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart speaks with Velvet Ice Cream President Luconda Dager and Brand Manager Ben Mitchell.

Ben says the festival will once again take place on the grounds of Ye Olde Mill at 11324 Mount Vernon Road in Utica. He explains that while some layout changes are happening this year, attendees can still expect the same family-friendly atmosphere.

Festival hours will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with Monday’s hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ben also says parking and shuttle services will continue to operate similarly to previous years.

We are into the final week of preparation for the Ice Cream Festival!! We will be selling our cookies, cake pops, pineapple coconut cookie dough pops, and of course ICE CREAM COOKIE SANDWICHES!
