Sorry for the long wait!

We love all your guesses.

The name we chose for our bottle baby is Chewbacca. We are calling him Chewy 💕

Chewy is certainly living up to his name and has already nibbled on some jeans 😅

Naturally, we are calling his twin Han Solo. Although they don't actually get to co-captain the Melinnium Falcon, they should be reunited once they are old enough to be weined.

We may have lost our first bottle baby of the season, but this little guy is doing great!

He and his twin were born on May 4th. For unknown reasons, mom kept the twin but neglected number 70.

In case you were wondering, we don't name the cows or calves in the pasture. There are too many of them and the majority of them look alike so we just use the ear tags to tell them apart. We tend to get a little attached to the orphans, so that's why they get names.

Being that we are a Star Wars family and we rarely get brown calves, can you guess what the kids named him? One of the wrong guesses will be used to name his twin, because we will actually be able to tell him apart from all of the black ones in the pasture.

Let the guessing begin...

We are big Star Wars fans at my house, so we love to talk about why someone or something may have turned to the Dark Side of the Force.
Meat will sometimes turn dark and brown when its been in the meat case for too long. Several things can cause meat to turn to the dark side, including packaging, oxygen levels, ingredients, lighting, temperature or bacteria.

He is a few days old and wasn't doing well in the field with his mama, so we brought him inside for some warmth and milk replacer.

We have 2 beef going to the butcher on Tuesday. We have sold all of one cow and 3/4 of the other.

Please help us sell the rest so we can take 2 animals to the butcher.

Placing your order directly with the butcher means you get to choose how thick you like your steaks and how many you want in the package. You also get to pick the size range you like your roasts. You can even choose not to have any roasts at all!

When you order from us, you place you cut order directly with our butcher and pick up your frozen meat in Frazeysburg Ohio.
