Sweet Clover Farm We raise quality registered Finnsheep in Central Maine. Our focus is on breed preservation and quality wool fleeces. They are commonly sheared twice a year.

Finnsheep are one of the most versatile production Sheep breeds in the world. Their genetic qualities provide an answer to the challenges facing Sheep production in the United States at all levels, large commercial, or small family farm. Finnsheep are known for having multiple lambs/birth, mature early, and breed readily out of season. Our 2014 lambing average was 2.7 lambs/ewe . Our ewes are exc

ellent mothers, calm, quiet and friendly in temperament, which translates into improved labor and handling efficiencies. Finnsheep wool is semi-fine, lustrous with well-defined staple and crimp, silky soft, and valued by hand spinners. The Finnsheep ewe is an asset to any productive , profitable Dairy, for reasons noted above . Finnsheep meat is lean and fine-textured and do well in organic and grass-fed operations. We are particularly excited to offer an interesting Finnsheep Crossbred mix. Our Finnsheep/ Columbia crosses combine exceptional frame, size, mothering ability with those of the Finnsheep breed as noted above. We also have Finnsheep/ Romney crossbreds that would enhance any production oriented operation. We earned our Bachelors of Science degrees in Livestock Production at Penn State ( where we met for the first time), and we look forward to helping you in achieving your individual farm and production goals.

We are no longer breeding so have decided to downsize our flock. We are looking to place these sheep in good homes where they will be well cared for. All were born on the farm and are a product of our Finn breeding program. Available are 6 registered Finn ewes ranging from 8-4 yrs. (two black, 3 brown, one white). Also available are 4 wethers (two brown, one black, one white). Finns are friendly and easy to work with. They would be a great addition to your backyard flock! We are in Central Maine. Pick up only. Easter Sunday our beloved Josephine passed away. She was the backbone of the farm. Our guardian, our friend our rock when all else seemed unhinged. She was at her happiest with the lambs and sheep. She instinctively knew her job and went above and beyond in protecting and loving the tiny lambs. Josie had several health issues but despite that she worked diligently every night keeping the flock safe. She worked till the very last night of her life. A braver heart nor kinder heart will ever be found. She is a true "one in a million" girl. She is sorely missed by us and her brother Jeremiah. Our beautiful girl will always be held close in our hearts. We will always love you Josie.
