🙏😞❤️"ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING" is our tag line here at the farm. This week has not disappointed that phrase. In your travels if you see my husband Jon be sure to show him some love and help put a smile on his face. He works tirelessly day and night to provide for our family and takes care of all of our livestock needs. We acquired some small calves last week and 1 little fella has kept us working overtime with repeated bloating. Dr. Kevin Lamczyk was on call to help after hours to tube him and answer questions day and night as we continued tubing him and administering baking soda, yeast and mineral oil to restart his rumen. Unfortunately all of our best efforts combined could not save him. Jon sadly discovered him passed away this morning in our triage unit before leaving for work at The Mt. Vernon Grain Elevator. He was full of energy late last night and drinking well and no longer showing signs of bloat. It was a very sad shock. It's difficult working so closely and bonding with these beautiful creatures to lose them so quickly. We also wanted to thank Glen Gordon of Gordon Cattle Company for taking calls and offering his advice and experience and Dr. Kevin for being our livestock vet and taking those all hours of the day calls and visits we couldn't do this without him. So today we shift our energy and focus on the future with grateful hearts for all God has given us and the wisdom that is gained in experiences that aren't always what we want.

💥HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!

Hello Farmstand Community. There is a board meeting in Dix tonight June 9th 2026 at the Dix community center on hgwy 37 @ 217 N Main Street Dix IL @ 7:00pm
We encourage everyone to attend and be a body present in support of banning the proposed AI Data Center. This will destroy our environment and our community. I have been researching and talking to people in other communities of the negative impacts to their towns. Property value decreases, water bills and electricity bills increase, real estate taxes increase. The people living near them have to put up with the constant hum and dangerous levels of EMF's. It destroys the wildlife in the area as well. Please come out in support tonight to be a body and if necessary a voice against bringing such a negative impact to our beautiful community.
We need to unite as a community and stand up against big corporations ruining our beloved farming communities.

This is why I eat more eggs than ever before. Unfortunately I lost both of my parents to Alzheimers also known as Type 3 diabetes. It is completely avoidable. Our food system is so broken.

Who wants eggs? Pasture raised eggs are the most nutritional dense options. The chickens need to peck around the grass and dirt to get minerals from the ground along with bugs and worms found in their natural environment.

Need eggs we have them here at the stand daily. Open 10-6 Tues-Sat. "We care about what you eat"
