I've avoided having to make this post for 5 years now, but I guess I knew it would happen one day...

Effective immediately, all orders will require payment up front, along with a contact number and a time for pickup. If you do not pick up in a reasonable amount of time and don't communicate that you're running behind or that something came up, I will need to attempt to sell your pie to someone else. I absoutely understand that sometimes life happens and as long as there is communication, I will be flexible, as I've always tried to be.

As a reminder/to anyone who is new to following my page - this is something I do outside of my full time job working in IT. Each pie I make is homemade by me, and made with love, and with that means I'm taking time away from spending time with my babies (I have a 2.5 year old boy and a 7 month old baby girl). I do this because I truly enjoy baking pies, and love hearing how my pies are part of your holidays, special moments or just filling a need for a sweet treat.

I am also working on an updated menu and updated pricing. I've tried to keep my prices as affordable as possible, but I am at a point of needing to adjust due to the increase in cost of ingredients.

UPDATE - SOLD

Needing a last-minute dessert for Mother's Day? I have one Banana Cheesecake Cream Pie avaliable - $24. First come first serve!

This is a deep dish cheesecake style pie - it has a graham cracker crust, and is layered with a cheesecake style filling, banana pudding filling, and sliced bananas. Topped with graham cracker crumbles. It serves 12 (or more, depending on how it's sliced).

🥧 Updates and holiday pie info! 🥧

I haven't been very active on my page lately, but I'm still doing pies on an as ordered basis! Between a kitchen remodel, my husband and I both starting new jobs, and pregnancy, I haven't had as much time or energy to dedicate to baking.

My husband and I are expecting our first child in a little less than 2 months! We're both very excited and anxious to meet our son at the end of November. 💙

With that being said, I'm sorry to say that I will not be taking any pie orders for Thanksgiving this year. My due date is 5 days following the Thanksgiving holiday, so it's just not feasible for me to plan ahead and have to end up canceling orders last minute.

If I'm feeling up to it, and baby allows me, I might make a few last minute pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies that will be posted on a first come, first serve basis.

I may do a very small pre-order for Christmas pies, but that is to be determined - I will post an update once I know how recovery and adjusting to parenthood is going. 😊

🥧 Thanksgiving Pie Order Info🥧

I've received several messages about Thanksgiving pies. Like last year, I will be offering three different pie options.

With the orders I've received already, I have very limited spots remaining. As of now, these are the options available.

Caramel Apple Crumble - 2 spots available - $17 ($19 for a crumble + lattice top)
Pumpkin - 3 spots available - $16

Unfortunately, I am at my capacity for Deep Dish Pecan.

Pies must be picked up during the designated times. If you order more than one variety, you can pick up both on the later date. Aside from that, I cannot hold pies as I'm very limited on refrigerator space.

Pickup times/dates:
Caramel Apple Crumble - Tuesday, November 23. 5:30-6:30 pm
Deep Dish Pecan - Wednesday, November 23, 5:30-6:30 pm
Pumpkin - Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving) 9:00-10:30 am

Yesterday was my late Grandma Thacker's birthday (the "Irene" in our name comes from her middle name), so to remember her, I made an apple pie with a simple lattice top, in one of her old pie pans. She was the one that taught me how to bake pies, and taught me the technique to assembling a lattice top (though she normally used a lattice top form cutter).

To remember her, I also want to share a back story with yall:

When I was growing up, my grandma, sister, a few cousins and I would bake all day one day to enter items into the Lawrence County 4-H fair. We would enter cookies, cakes, rolls, pies, and our favorite category - the decorative cake (the only category we never won, but had SO much fun doing it!).

On my first year of eligibility to enter, we entered a pie I baked with grandma under my name, which we used a lattice form cutter on. The judges disqualified me, saying that there was no way a 7 year old could make a lattice top. My grandma was NOT happy, since it was obvious that we'd used a form. That is what prompted her to teach me how to make a "real" lattice top - to show that I was capable of making a lattice top.

I wish those judges could see the lattice tops I make today, and know that them disqualifying me fueled my obsession with making intricate lattice tops today. I think of my grandma every time I make a lattice top, and know that she would be proud of me.

One of my favorite parts about baking pies is being able make creative pies to be a part of peoples special life events. This weekend, I got to bake a few pies for one of my aunts weddings, and baking these three pies reminded me why I started doing this in the first place. ❤
