Howdy Folks,
Those who know me personally know that I typically stay out of politics. In my experience, politics often becomes a lose-lose conversation.
What I do believe in is working hard, loving my family, building small businesses, being a good neighbor, and supporting the community that has given so much to me and my family.
But there are moments in life when remaining silent doesn't feel right.
As a resident of Mountain Home, a small business owner, a gardener, and someone who deeply loves the Texas Hill Country, I have serious concerns about the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility planned near our community.
My concerns aren't political. They're personal.
I think about the water we drink, the air we breathe, the land we work, the property we've invested our lives in, and the Texas Hill Country we hope to pass on to our children and grandchildren.
Like many of you, I chose to live here because of the peace, the beauty, the people, and the way of life that make Mountain Home special. I believe our community deserves transparency, meaningful discussion, and a strong voice in decisions that could affect our families and our future for generations to come.
Whether you share these concerns, support additional research, or simply want to learn more and be part of the conversation, I invite you to join our new community group:
**Mountain Home Matters**
This group is dedicated to bringing neighbors together, sharing information, asking questions, and ensuring that the voices of Mountain Home residents are heard.
This isn't about politics.
It's about our community.
It's about our land.
It's about our water.
It's about our future.
And I believe that matters.
Kind regards,
mjw
