Mountain Home Farmers Market, Bread of Life Ancient Grains, Local Honey & Melons

Saturday started with cows heading to pasture and ended on the tarmac at Baxter County Airport.

In the middle: Mountain Home Farmers Market.

Fresh-milled Bread of Life bread (bran and germ still in it). A banana muffin in the truck. A roast from Backstage Farms before they ran out. Honey that actually tastes like where the bees flew. Melons picked the old way — scratch, smell, thump. Then Shadrach’s coffee and toasted sourdough at home.

Local community is not a vibe. It is the people who will still have food when the store does not. You start that on a Saturday morning with a muffin, a roast, and a handshake. Not after something happens.

In today’s video we took a break from the usual grind and cut the front lawn, then ran a loop through town to support the folks who make this community work. Today we dropped off the 2024 Hustler Super Z 60 at S&H Equipment in Branson. Service light came on at 106.7 hours. Oil wasn’t low. Manual said bring it in, so we did.

So far, the bees made it through the cold and the winter. Despite being blown over in 60mph winds and having a questionable amount of food, they made it!
