One of my sweet friends packed our milk for vacation because her family didn’t want to go without it—and honestly, that might be one of the coolest compliments we’ve ever received! From our little Arkansas dairy farm to the white sandy beaches of Florida, our milk sure is getting to see the world. 😂🐄🏖️

I know I am always talking about about how important our food is…but I’m going to keep talking about it because I truly believe it matters.

Just look at the direction things are going. For years, raw milk was treated like something dangerous or even illegal in many places. Now we’re hearing about lab-created eggs and meat, synthetic milk and watching more imported beef enter our country while American farmers struggle. Yet somehow, we’re expected to blindly trust that everything on the grocery-store shelf is best for our families?

How can we not ask questions?

I believe much of the highly processed, man-made food we consume is contributing to the health problems we see everywhere today. I’m not claiming that changing our diet will cure every sickness, but I truly believe that returning to simple, real food could make a tremendous difference in how many people feel and live.

Maybe the answer isn’t another ingredient created in a laboratory or another product with a label we can’t understand. Maybe the answer is getting back to the basics: meat raised by farmers we know, fresh milk, real eggs, fruits, vegetables, butter, and homemade bread. Just simple ingredients our grandparents would recognize.

Know your farmer. Know where your food comes from. Read the labels. Ask questions. Support the people who are still raising food with honesty, care, and respect for the animals and the land trying to keep good food an option for everyone.

You don’t have to agree with everything I say—but please, start paying attention. Our food system is not what it used to be it affects every single one of us, the longevity of your life and that affects your family as well. What we put into our bodies matters more than we honestly know. 💗

My Queen 👸 Ms. Honey

One of my favorite things to see while we’re milking is a cow calmly chewing her cud. 🐄💗

When a cow is chewing her cud, it’s a wonderful sign that she feels relaxed, comfortable, and content in her environment.

Happy, comfortable cows are healthier cows, and healthy cows give the very best milk. 💗🥛🐮

Last night I watched my kids play catch in front of our farm store, with our cows grazing behind them and even a customer running after her little one — I can’t help but smile. These are the moments that matter, but it also makes me a little sad.

They’re growing up in a world that feels so disconnected from the simple things. You know, every time I scroll on my phone, it’s the same story, recalls, warnings, bad news. It wears you down. And it makes you wonder what we’re really putting on our tables, what kind of future that creates. And honestly, I keep coming back to this: maybe the answer isn’t more noise or fear. Maybe it’s getting back to basics. Simple food, clean ingredients, knowing the hands that raised it. Knowing your farmer. Because farmers and local food aren’t a trend. They’re the roots of strong communities and healthier families. That’s what I want my kids to know. Not shortcuts or mystery labels, no fake food, but real food, real flavor, real people.

If we can give our children that, even those little moments of sunshine, grass stains and real milk moustaches, then maybe we’re giving them something solid to stand on. Something real, something grounding. Happy Saturday I hope you enjoy something “Simple” today 🫶🏽💗
