Boise Mushroom Company what type of mushroom would grow well in this substrate? I have 3 acres of grind; it's 6 inches deep. I'm running pigs through it so it will be really rich, any idea what would do well? Would love to throw a shotgun of strains.

Wood waste=soil

All the wood debris we get will have a water-holding capacity of 180k gallons of water. The average rainfall we get per acre is 217k-300k gallons of rain/snow.

It's amazing to think that 500 tons of wood debris, but more like 250 tons of rough mulch, can soak up 80% of the moisture we get per acre.

Those 4 pigs can break up the biomass by 30-40% in 6 months.

The next 5 years will be wild.

H**p is an excellent scaffolding for building soil structure. Imagine how much moisture would stay in the soil, and the quality of the forage on the ranges would hold through the summer.

Grass is great for holding the silt/loam together but it doesn't create structure as fast.
