Update on Mr. Todd
Today is 29 days since his 15 foot fall from the ladder.
There are so many blessings we see in all of this, even in all of the pain and fear and uncertainty. What we know for sure:
God is with us.
Our community is strong and so very many of you love this farm as much as we do.
We love you all and will continue to hold events as scheduled, have field trips with all the fun things, just like years past.

We are looking for some helpers to get things spiffed up for Fall. Volunteering 2 hours of your time would accomplish so much.

Todd is still in the nursing facility. He is making great strides. The physical and occupational therapists say they haven’t seen someone push so hard to get better. They anticipate release to home in the next week or so, so we are busting our backsides to fix the floors, get handrails and possibly a ramp before he is released.

Thank you all for reaching out, praying and sending support!
Alison

3 weeks ago today, Todd took a fall causing a burst fracture of L3. Shards of bone cut into the dura, the nerve sack in front of the spinal cord, severing many nerves and damaging many nerves.
The beauty of nerves is some of them will regenerate. Regeneration of nerves can take many years. Some nerves will not regenerate.
The neurosurgery was done beautifully, using robotic assisted surgery. When nerves are entangled in bone shards, there will be damage. The skilled surgeon did a phenomenal job of saving every nerve he could, putting the vertebrae back together, fusing what had to be fused and placing rods that will keep that vertebrae stable so it can heal properly. As anyone who has had back surgery knows, you have 1 chance to heal correctly.

I’ve heard some amazing rumors about what happened so thought I’d give you truth and let you know there are good things happening through all of this.

We can truly use your support right now. Please come on out and buy vegetables we have grown right here.
