Dragon Store For 2021, The Eclectic Carton is offering day old chicks + hatching eggs to the Iron, MN area. Farm pick-up & possible delivery within 60 miles is available.

Breed Selection: Mosaic, White Bresse, Olive Egger, & our Colored Pearl variety. The Eclectic Carton is located in Northern Minnesota, owned & operated by a chicken-loving, goat-obsessed, horse-riding gardener! For 2021, day old chicks and hatching eggs are available. Our flock focus is on health, quality, and ongoing education for new chicken owners. We also raise and train a young group of Packgoats, and are proud members of the North American Packgoat Association.

Welp. If you are to look back at the prior baby goat pics in this album, you’ll see these babies pictured are NOT the same ones. The two dam-raised boys previously set to become Eclectic Goats are no longer joining us. (Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions with 4H kids who typically work with the herd, they weren’t able to receive the level of socializing I was looking for, in addition to conformation concerns with the white one.)

SO! Instead, we are now planning a rather sudden road trip to Indiana from Minnesota to pick up two of these triplet brothers born yesterday & will be bottle raising them!

The intention is to raise and train them as a team of cart/wagon goats. Likely it’ll be the two white ones who come home, for a matching team. Their names must start with “N” in accordance with their birth farm’s yearly naming scheme.

Stayed tuned for the name reveal and road trip pics to come!!!! 🐐

Our Story

The Eclectic Carton offers backyard chicken keeping workshops and individual consults, both in person and online. We keep a micro-flock in town, and are in the beginning stages of settling in and incorporating gardens spaces among the chickens! Essential oils are also an integral part of the operations, with available classes specializing in the use of oils and animals as well as product sales. Chequamegon Bay area farm sitting services are also offered.
