3/28. Baby playtime video 🥳 Today was gorgeous, not too hot or cold or overly windy, and with the youngest babies now 10 days old, the group of mamas and babies were very ready for time outside!

But since they weren't all in the same big barn like before (I sure need to post an update on that), they need some time learning about bigger spaces together before integrating with the herd. So, after some serious effort installing t-posts (many rocks hiding just a dew inches down), we put up some fencing and let them out.

I took a bunch of videos that I should edit into one of those cute bouncy montages. Until then, here is the very first video (approx 2 min) that I got at the start of their excitement. Hope you enjoy watching their fun like I did. Turn off sound or pardon my goofy talking 😁♥️🐐

3/18 Craberry triplets! 🥰 Phew, I'm tired (these are the final set of "winter" babies), but first time mama put in the real long work. Yesterday Cranberry was fine for most of the day, just had a bigger udder and dropped belly. By 7:30pm I started seeing more of the preparing actions, pawing, back leg straight, and the first slime drips. By 10, no big progress. I figured I would be checking every 2 hours thru the whole night. I felt too lucky that the others were all so good, didn't want to assume. So D went to bed and set 3am alarm to check and give me a longer sleep if she's still not close. I was still betting on before sunrise. By 1am, she was closer but yep still not showing, so I went to bed with my clothes on just in case.

D ran in shortly after 3am and said one baby halfway cleaned! I would guess no more than 15 min before. Cute light brown girl 4.1 # was up walking fairly soon. Multiple times I thought Cranberry was ready to go again, but it just didn't happen. Baby girl didn't get to nurse because mama kept cleaning her and also not settling down. Around 3:15 or 3:30 she finally started pushing a bubble, but it went back in. Then got up and moved to a new spot. By 3:45 she started again. There was a bubble and then some air sounds, almost like there was a pushing next to it. Mentally paused but not long because she started pushing again and the bubble got bigger and she pushed out a big 5.7 # light brown/tan heavy moonspotted girl. Helped wipe her and noticed a small bit of meconium p**p right at the end as if with the final squeeze. Moved her to mama's face and no more than 5 min before she was pushing again - a tail!

Coming fast and clearly small, so no time to do anything but help pull. Smooth birth, though worried for a second because baby seemed a little limp like it had been squished. They must've been trying to come to close together, thus the delay and bubble oddness. I quickly wiped and use the sucking bulb (same as human babies) and baby boy was okay! 4.0 # light brown with frosted ears and a few moonspots. A bit of a cleaning job for mama, so I alternated between the two so she could love on both. I stayed till 5:30am to make sure they were all good, get more blurry pictures (especially hard to catch all together!), all nursed at least some, then all settled in for a nap. I got up at 8 to go check and they were okay but giving a little more assistance was good. By this evening, they were all adjusting better... A happy end to this bunch of birthings. 10 safe healthy gorgeous babies, 5 girls, 5 boys, and 5 wonderful mamas doing well. Grateful ♥️🐐

3/15 Coffee ♥️ this sweet girl's first time, 147 days, and of course it's a big stormy day. Everything seemed fine this morning, no obvious signs, so we just focused on finishing everything for big wind and rain. Got it done and all mamas and babies seemed okay as it started, so I went inside to wait it out. Once it was done (6pm?), thankfully not a long one, I went out to assess and as I got closer I could hear Coffee was talking a lot. The sweet little kind but just kept going. That's one of the signs. Getting in the pen, I saw her belly had dropped, udder was more filled, and a small slimy dripping. More signs, though it was not imminent. I sat down and petted her and Cranberry, the other still pregnant, just taking some time to love on them. There were one or two moments of Coffee moving like she was adjusting, feeling contractions. Within 30 min maybe, she started progressing, arched at one point like ready to push and soon laid down and had some goop start coming. I got the kid kit and prepped a bucket with molasses, salt, and baking soda (to fill with warm water after) and went back out.

I think no more than 15 min, wasn't checking time, and she started pushing. It was just a bubble and wasn't popping. That's totally fine and even good because baby is protected and it helps mama dilate/stretch more. She pushed a few min and as it reached the max, it popped and I saw two feet and a nose. She was pushing steadily, so I let her do it. Out came a dark brown girl 5.1 # same marking style as black and tan Coffee (with sire Jagger) and just like Miel and kids. Those are strong genes from Sassy! This girl is a great great granddaughter.

Coffee was a bit stumped about what to do when baby came out. She acted like she wanted to lick, but could barely reach. I wiped the primary slime off and put her closer and Coffee just stared at her, like she wasn't sure. Not scared or weirded out, just maybe a tad confused? She licked the air a couple times like she was about to start but then didn't. I put some slime on her nose in case something about me wiping took too much away or the towels changed the smell even though unscented. That didn't do it. Well this is a first. The air temp was dropping, will be down to 20 later, so no time to wait, just got to work drying off baby while Coffee watched. Finally she started to join in and I backed off. Not vigorous but at this point it was for bonding. She was good about letting her nurse, lifting her leg, but she kept shifting just enough that baby would juuust miss latching, so I assisted and then they got the hang of it with baby girl nursing both sides (I'll have to extra watch that to keep mama even as time goes on). I took a bunch of blurry pictures - so hard in low light and dark coloring. I made sure they were more settled in with each other before heading out to write this up and on with my evening milking chores. I'll check in again before bed. Grateful for such a simple easy birth, healthy mama and baby girl and done before the coldest hours. ♥️🐐

3/13 Lucky Friday for Coco at 146 days! 2 gorgeous healthy boys, sired by Swami. This story is shorter because, the short of it, I missed the birth.

Last night I noticed her udder was bigger and thought maybe that meant 24 hours. And she was being extra cuddly, exactly how Miel was basically melting when getting pet. This morning Coco was her normal self, ate breakfast and pushed against the other two to get as much as she could. By 2pm, everyone was desperate to get outside in the sunny day with no longer soppy ground. So I let her out with them. She didn't run around as much as the others, but seemed fine. Udder clearly bigger, but no alarms were ringing in my head. D and I worked on moving hay for the upcoming rain and 20 degree nights and then more sectioning off in the baby shelter.

While we finished and chatted, we then realized it was time to put everyone back in the shelters, but then we saw a bunch of goats in the usually closed up feed/milking space, dangit. They didn't destroy/eat all the things, but it needed cleaning and sidetracked us. So only when we went to get the mamas to put in their space, did D hear a baby peep and yelled to me that Coco had babies! Ran in and both boys were out. Born probably around 6:30pm 6 # chocolate flashy moonspotted boy was standing nearly dry. Coco was licking 6 # black and tan boy with blue eyes who was not yet up, still partly slimy, born clearly less than 5 min before. I grabbed some towels, helped finish cleaning, let them nurse a smidge and we moved them back to the baby pen. I got some molasses tea for mama Coco and took some blurry photos while I went googoo eyed over these gorgeous strong boys from my sweet Coco Cara (after Fame & Flashdance) and may just need to grow into flashy sire bucks. Girls are awesome, but a good buck is everything and these are ones I have waited to see, mix of Sassy+Jagger and Cali Girl+Kahuna. Such a lucky happy Friday the 13th here ♥️♥️ (I'm happy turning superstitions upside down.)

3/11 Miel! 🥰 My little Honey-Turbinado girl (that's her mama and daddy names). Hold your horses, this is long but worth reading I hope...

Last night after chores, it was raining again, so I checked in on Lily and babies and the other pregnant girls. They were all a little on edge, especially new mama feeling protective of unknown storm sounds with this new pen. So I comforted Lily for a bit. Then noticed Miel's udder looked more full and she was extra moody, including seeking out one of the other mamas over 5 feet away and then head-into-side butting her. Not cool at all. So I sat down with those 4 and tried to spread my petting amongst them. Miel slowly inched her head into my lap like she wanted to cuddle asleep. She's a good friendly girl but this is extra. Eventually I decided to go and before I got out, she went after that mama again. Sooo, instead of waiting till the morning, I stayed up till 3am getting a gate put up to make another closed pen area in this new "baby barn" and put Miel inside.

In the morning, Miel ate all her breakfast and seemed fine for a while, so I did chores without worry. I checked on them again around 1pm when I heard loud banging. Lily was headbanging her fence panel (not that hard, just sound traveled) because her babies were asleep up against it and another girl was apparently too close for comfort. And I noticed Miel sitting as if she might be pushing, or at least getting closer. Oops, so I went inside, potty break, refilled kidding kit (more washcloths and puppy pads), back out by 1:15.

Immediately saw she was standing with a small pool of slimy liquid at her feet. Didn't know if it was a sack break. I got in there and within minutes she was pushing - a hoof tip, no sack, oh! Then quickly it became clear Miel was not having it easy, the hoof went back in when she stopped pushing. A few more times sounding like hard/not usual pushing and I got concerned. I tried to get a finger in, she was tight and sensitive so I couldn't feel much without her moving away. Finally I determined it was one hoof and tip of the face. I couldn't feel far. Was it big or she not dilated enough or baby slightly turned funny? Wasn't clear yet. As she pushed more, it seemed possibly any or all of those. The very tip of nose was now showing too, but she was pushing pretty hard with no more movement. I got scared/very worried and only freaked out for a moment. I want Miel to make it thru most important. I want baby, but mama first. She can do this. We can do this. Both can. Ann (unrelated girl) had a very large boy before, Miel can do it too.

Slowly I gently pushed the face very slightly back and tried to feel around it and the hoof and mama's wall to see if she might spread more. Eesh, the tightness. Breathe. I tried feeling again, seeing where there could be movement, maybe shift angle or the foot, something. I gently pulled the foot out past the dew claws, almost to the knee. That seemed to give a bit relief, but then feeling around again to one side, she cried out, so it was not better beyond the moment. I gave her a few seconds and then gently pushed the foot back to just the hoof again with nose showing. Time to just wait and watch how much she can push. She pushed haaard and kept it up, crying out with pain but such a good strong girl. Now past the bridge of nose, can see tongue squished, but still not far enough. So much pushing. I pulled the foot further out again. That helped, more pushing, closer and closer, not much I can do. Finally past the biggest part of the skull! She stops for a moment, but I don't let her wait too long being at the throat. I pull some, worried about choking from compression. Long neck coming. What the heck, where is the other foot?? Okay, it's fully back, okay. Baby looks good but how am I not seeing shoulder yet? I pull more as she pushes, careful with the neck. Please. Breathe. Pull more. Crying mama. Oof, past the bent second shoulder, holy moly she comes out!

Yes a beautiful healthy girl ♥️ 1:45(ish)pm 5.4 # with blue eyes from daddy Swami and chocolate color copy of mama's markings, which are now carrying on from great great grandma Sassy.

Wow that was a new experience with the front leg fully backward 😳

Wipe wipe, one two, suction just in case and get to mama's licking - not as vigorous as usual but definitely being a good mama and understandable. I help wipe and, whoa, barely 5 min later and Miel is pushing again! She lays down, has a bubble, then stands. Quickly see hoof, nose, and I barely had time to get a puppy pad before just a few pushes and out flies baby boy while she's standing. But is he okay? I worried because he didn't move (most often it's nearly immediate), but I've had plenty that benefit from a little help, need suction and/or rubbing or even upside down swinging (just twice I can recall). I quickly pick him up out of the pool of liquids, onto a puppy pad to help soak up and keep bedding shavings less sticky, got the slime off his face and one or two more wipes and then he moved his head. Phew. More wipe, suction, mama licking. Hmm, surprising smaller than sis (boys usually bigger, but also usually first). ♥️ 1:55pm 4.4 # slick black copy of mama's markings again and blue eyes. And he's moving more, phew! He actually tries to get around and then even beats sis to successful nursing (makes sense though). He's wobbly with one back leg muscle a little tight, not wanting to bend yet, but it'll get there (and it already looked much better within a few hours).

All is good. Both nursed and got sleepy. Mama got molasses tea and fresh hay and I let them all be. Checked back after a couple hours and babies were up and getting around well. Miel had passed two placenta and was not really swollen at all. Wow, so thankful another good day with healthy mama and babies 🎉🥰🐐

03/11/2026

3/10 my special Lily has kicked off 2026 kidding with her first set, a boy and girl at 148 days gestation, from sire Jagger. I noticed Lily was likely ready to birth today when she didn't shove her way to the front for breakfast. After chores, I checked her and there was still plenty time. So it became a full day finally finishing up the new baby pen after it flooded from the rain a few days ago. Got her and the other 4 pregnant girls moved and settled by maybe 5pm. I went inside for a break and checked again at 6. All were fine. She was definitely progressing but not immediate.

Checked again a little after 7pm and ooh saw a couple contractions with arching hunches that got me a little worried about position. I quickly ran to get my birthing kit and phone from the charger and got in the pen with her. She wouldn't let me check for readiness, was sensitive about touching there and also wasn't puffy. Hmm, because first birth? Or something not right? (Taking special notice because she's almost 3 years old). It was still early enough that I waited. By 7:25 she started pushing a bubble. Good! It came out just a sack of fluid though, but helped her dilate. Another 10 min or less and she started pushing a new bubble and I saw feet tips, woohoo! Took some good pushing but normal. When I was able to feel the face, I couldn't quite tell size and decided to pull one foot forward to the knee to possibly help shift just in case. A couple more strong pushes and baby boy slid out to his belly. 7:45 black with brown and white marks much like his daddy and a solid 6.0 # size. Lily couldn't reach him and wasn't trying hard, so I wiped the slime off and waited for another push or such since I don't like breaking the umbilical myself. When he didn't simply come any further and she wasn't shifting, I gently pulled and the rest of him slid and cord mostly broke and I moved him within reach from her face.

And then surprise! Just 5 min after his face came out, Lily pushed again and very quickly slid out baby girl 4.9 # dark brown like fudge with a white poll. Wiped off the slime and put her next to mama's face. Lily gave her a bit more effort while brother was getting vocal and trying to work his legs. They both were fluffy very fast and up eating within 20-30 min.

What a fantastic end of day. New kidding pen ready before more rain and just in time for these new healthy babies and mama. We take the good news wherever we get it. ♥️♥️

11/3 Pepita babies. ♥️♥️ My only fall babies this year, multiple reasons. The birth was overall good, only a few moments of wondering. And I'm thankful mama skipped the first frost and waited for the next warm day. I knew she was close, the 4th was the 150 days count. Last night, her udder did the big p**f but she still jumped on the milk stand for dinner. This morning she was in a back corner when I first went in, but she waddled out when I said good morning. Ah, getting closer. So I fed her in a pen instead of seeing if she could jump. She tussled with one of the milking mamas in heat. Funny girls. After morning chores, I let the herd out to pasture and Pepita cried out to join. I gave in, but when I checked back in 30 min, she had returned to the barn. I did a few things and then decided to sit with her as she seemed split between looking out to pasture and pawing different spots to nest. After 3pm, she started having clear contractions, then getting up and shifting sides. It seemed more than just reposition discomfort. After an hour, I started to wonder if the babies were poorly positioned like one other time a mama was shifting a long time because one was stuck and I didn't realize. So I tried to check Pepita, but she wasn't really dilated much and was sensitive. Hmm. That wasn't encouraging, but it had only been an hour of it. Before 5pm, the herd came back in and she started to settle in a bit better, then contractions stronger and some pushing. I grabbed the birth kit.

At 6:20 she was pushing out the first bubble. I saw a couple big hooves. Oh boy, but she was doing it without massive fanfare. So I only helped when the face started to push with the hooves and was fairly big. I pushed one hoof very slightly back and pulled the other forward a bit to try easing the crown point. A couple big pushes, she got his head thru and the rest came well at 6:25 ish. He didn't squirm right away. I got the goo off his face, a couple rubs, and he moved a little. Put him closer to mama's face. Must've been squished just long enough to take a moment. Within 5 min, he was clearly strong and wanting to nurse. Big boy 7.6 # brown with mama's large white poll/ crown and frosted ears.

Pepita was still laying down the first 10-15 min, but then she got up, shifted some while still licking baby boy and started contracting. She laid down and by 6:45 (20 min after boy), big baby girl 6.3 # with tiny white crown was out. There were a few tiny p**ps and she also took a moment to squirm and breathe, but not long, goo wiped and she was ready. I put her in front of mama, next to brother, so she would be tended to more easily. And all good. Within 20 more min, they were both working on walking and finding where to nurse. I made sure they did, then weighed them, and hung out waiting for mama to pass the placenta. That took a while, she clearly paused a few different times to prioritize babies nursing. But all good and overall smooth. I wish these two were going to have a typical little baby gang to grow with, but I guess that just means I'll have to sppoil them. Happy for healthy babies and mama

2/14/25 Dulce triplets on Valentine's. As it's been with a few, I was watching her udder and it got bigger the last few days, notably more last night and then huge p**f this morning. This sweet mild mannered mama was calm with fairly normal attitude, ate fine, laid in the back pen for a bit, but mostly seemed to rest. I figured she would wait till evening and I went on with doing rain/cold prep for what's coming. I checked her just before 6pm and she was progressing. Next about 7:30 and she was definitely in position in the front corner with a while much of others resting around her. I wanted to move her to a pen, for my ease, but didn't want to stop her progress. And good thing I didn't since within 5 min she was having clear contractions. I grabbed the kidding towels and the other goats got up and left as I came back with my arms full.

Dulce stood with her back near the wall, pushed a handful of times and baby started coming with sack in tact, breaking just as I helped catch him (because why not). 7:40 solid dark brown boy. She turned her head to look but that's all, so I wiped his face quickly and put him closer and she went right to licking. Other goats came to get a closer look. One, newish mama Bo, was even concerned by the little peep sounds and acted like she might be willing to take over if allowed. It was all sweet.

Then no more than 10-15 min later she pushed again, another coming with in tact sack. 7:55? Light brown boy with making like her. Since she was cleaning the other, I didn't wait to bring him forward to her. Then maybe 1 min later, a push and another practically flew out. I barely realized she had pushed, when boom, baby was on the ground. Girl solid dark brown similar to brother. This one it was good I was there since Dulce was preoccupied. Baby girl was awkwardly folded almost upside down because of a dip in the bedding, and with a delay, she could have drowned in the fluid and sack still on her face. But I got her, toweled off big glops, and put at mama's face with brothers. Dulce worked on her while I helped finish the second boy. The first was standing and trying to find his way to nursing. Bo came back and was even more interested and concerned, but a small hand gesture and she didn't interfere. After a bit of cleaning, I felt everything was good enough to leave to get her molasses water. Of course when I set it down, others wanted some. So I shooed them away, she got a couple gulps, then I set it aside. I decided it was time to move her to a pen so she could settle in and have solo uninterrupted access to her feed and water. Moving three newborns was a challenge, but thankfully not too hard with good timing for everyone to still be calm in their snuggle piles. Then I made sure they all were able to relatch on their own for nursing. And thankfully all done before the rain storm really hit. Such a LOVELY birthing for this day or any. 3 healthy sweet babies for Dulce, sweet mama a second time. ♥️♥️♥️

Pecan & Orca 2/7/25 Two sets of triplets!
On Weds, Pecan (Moonpie's sister) started early behavior change, like nesting in that back corner many of them like and showed a bit bigger udder. On Thurs morning, her udder was notably bigger, though she ate breakfast as usual. So I waited till 3pm to check on her again and found her in that back corner. She seemed to have a few contractions periodically, pawing, small discharge. I waited, just hanging out with her, got in some sweet one on one time that isn't as common these days with a bigger herd. She would seem to start progress then decide to get up and it stopped, did that a few times. But didn't seem unsettled, so I wasn't concerned. I finally went inside and ate and came back out. No real change. Hmm.

By 11pm, she was getting closer, but I couldn't tell if it would take til morning. I was falling asleep, so I went inside for nap. Not even 45 min, something woke me, so I went back up to check. She had the first girl right before, half cleaned, not yet standing. Cute little 4.4 # brown white poll, frosted ears like her lineage plus a little side spot and tail tip. Then it took maybe an hour for number two to come, but easy, slid out smooth. Around 1:15am boy 5.4 # black with highlights and markings like recent kids, and I realized I'll need to pay extra attention to know which are which! I helped clean the big glops and let mama do the rest. She had enough time from the first that she could focus easily. I tried getting a few pictures, many blurry as usual, but they help with the timeline too. And I kept expecting to see placenta begin as she had a bit of sack hanging. Around 30 min and she started contracting, laid down, and whoa that's a baby bubble! A third! A couple pushes and this girl came out fairly easy given she was fully encased in her bubble (wow), breaking only as I put my hands on the girl to make sure she was all the way out and bring closer to mama's face. Almost 2am, brown girl 5.1 # like her sister though cream eyeshadow instead of the side spot. I helped clean off big goo and then back n forth helping with the others. Since there are three, I wanted to make sure they all got colostrum before I went to bed.

At some point in all of this, maybe now or maybe in between kids, I also noticed that Orca was deep nesting in a nearby spot and stretching legs here and there like she was beginning. So I moved her into the other half of this back corner to keep a better eye on her. I also gave her Pecan's molasses water since she actually only wanted plain water the whole time. Orca right away drank half.

By 4am, the three babies had all nursed some and could find a teat on their own. I had cleaned up all the wet after Pecan passed a second placenta. I set up and filled the individual hay feeders for both Pecan and Orca. Orca was showing signs that she might go within a couple hours or probably 6 hours at most, but I decided to head to bed. It really seemed a toss up for whether I would miss it, but being groggy wouldn't help her. I honestly figured she would be okay. I got about 4 hours sleep, getting back to the barn about 8:30am to find she had three fully cleaned standing kids that had all possibly got a share of nursing as well. She was still back and forth licking then all. Two brown boys were fluffy while the cream boy needed just a smidge more. I got a towel and helped since mama Orca was slowing down, seemed like she could use a break. She gave me a couple licks and the boy a few more, but also took the chance to check back on the other two and drink more water. I weighed these three new boys (5.1 + 5.6 + 6.4), made sure they all could find a teat a couple times on their own, watched her pass two placentas, and then fed both the new mamas. Then I went back in the house, made some coffee so I wouldn't have a sleep deprived headache, and went back to the barn for morning chores. Afterward, I did a better cleaning of that back corner and got some pictures. Phew, a tired but sweet happy Friday ♥️🐐

02/06/2025

Moonpie babies 2/4/25 ♥️♥️ I had been watching my Moon for a week as she was decently wide, such a waddle, and had gotten quite insistent at feeding time. On Monday, her udder that was full finally got a little more full, so I knew it was probably 24 hours notice. Tues morning she was in the same spot by the door where Dana had birthed and was looking like she was early stages as she was laying a bit sideways. I started with chores and she stayed there, didn't come demanding at the door, but she did stand up. Aha! Her udder was soo much more, she was definitely going to birth soon. Toward the end of chores, she came to the door, ate and then joined the group when I put out hay. So maybe she wasn't urgent, but that udder p**f meant by night for sure.

When I checked in again at 3pm, she was back in the spot, awkwardly on one side due to full belly (in two ways lol) and had a leg outstretched like she'd probably had contractions. I got my main kidding kit (a bucket with towels, gloves, and the nose suctioner) and sat down with her while everyone else kept eating or slept since it was too soggy to let them out. Around 4pm, after she had gotten up a couple times to adjust, she laid down with her butt right up to the wall. Well that won't work, but I didn't bother her as I figured she'd still shift or get up before too long. Her next time up, I coaxed her to the back pen. I got mama some warm molasses water, thinking she might not be all that long now. She progressed a little more, but not a lot. She would seem to have a contraction or maybe movement, but she stayed standing, no more laying down. Waiting, waiting. A couple hours. Got my phone charger and stayed. Eventually there was a little bit more progress and pushing where I saw the bubble. Oh good I thought. I pulled out a couple towels to be ready.

While my back was turned, around 7:35pm, the sack broke. The fluid was a little bit more yellow than typical but not alarming. But 10 minutes passed and she just seemed relaxed, relieved of pressure, no contractions. Generally, once the water breaks, the babies need out within 30 min or there might be an issue. 10 sounds like not a big deal, but I've seen where things were wrong during labor without acting soon enough. So I put on a glove (not leaving to wash, I had been petting her a lot over the hours) and reached a finger in, hmm, and then another. I barely felt the tips of feet, took a second to figure they were feet. She started to push a little, I'm sure from my pressure. I let her be, hoping it would just all flow. She hunched with more of an arch than typical. Then she did it again. And no feet from that pushing. I went in again, a little further. I didn't know if they were hooked and I moved them or what. I had my fingers circle around the feet to feel for a face. Finally I thought i felt it. During that it also felt like maybe there was a membrane that broke during the moving. I hope that wasn't another sack. Hard to describe it all. Moon started pushing more. I kept fingers next to the feet as they came forward, tips out. I let her have a break and they went back in. Hmm. Can't figure if an issue. I let her push. Maybe I should've waited more, but I checked again, further. The face was behind the ankles. Okay. More pushing and still not quite coming. Then I questioned if the face was angled funny, checked again. I wondered if it's maybe a second kid. I try to quickly mentally imagine and decide. I think it's okay, let her push more to find out. She lays down and pushes. Feet come more and eventually bulging from the face coming. A bit more and I see nose and tip of tongue. She's pushing hard but I don't want to pull yet. She pauses and there's slight retracting. But then more pushing and the face is nearly out. This feels so slow comparatively, but it's not long. Then finally the head is 95% and I gently hold/pull to help in case she stops, so the baby comes out further than the neck. And then she easily slides the rest of the way a bit before 8pm. Brown with mama's frosted ears and white poll (head spot) 7.2 # girl and holds her head up right away. Mama Moon cranes her neck, can't reach, but doesn't budge her body at all. I do a quick couple wipes, there was some baby p**ps in the goo, probably from during the push. Then I pull baby girl closer to Moon and she gets right to licking. I wipe some more and then give them space. Phew.

After a few minutes, I stand to clean up the wet piles and mama starts pushing again. I get baby girl out of the way, she yelps at me and works at standing up while I turn back to Moon. Another sack bubble peeks out and quickly breaks. Maybe only a minute later, and just 10 min after the first born, out slides second baby without help 8:07pm brown but tiny white poll 6.4 # girl. I help with the big glops. Moon stands up and I put the second girl next to the first so mama isn't debating which to care for. After this, everything is smooth. She gently licks them all over, cleaning both back and forth. They are both strong, up fast and find the teats and nurse within 30 minutes or maybe less. After a bit I brought her some food. Got some blurry photos, the babies were moving around so much. Other littles poked their heads thru the fence checking them out. My heart skipped at all the cuteness. Mama passed a second placenta at 10pm. Aha, now she's really really done. I refilled the hay, fed all the other mamas, and headed to bed. I was run down and no doubt mama Moon wanted to settle in and rest too. I figured I'd write this the next day since I would need to try photos again too. In the morning found them all doing perfectly well. Aww yay. Over the Moon! 😘🐐♥️♥️
