Next month, we’ll celebrate our 7th anniversary in the taproom. In past years, we’ve dropped a series of beers for the big day, but this year, we thought it would be fun to get back to our roots…
We started brewing together in 2012, in a kitchen, in North Seattle. We slowly progressed to brewing in the backyard, and then finally into Jerret’s garage in Shoreline. There were many iterations, equipment changes, and tweaks, but our favorite homebrew shop was a constant. Local homebrew shops are a huge lift for this hobby and industry. They’re a go-to resource for your supplies, but they’re also the hub of a community of brewers where you hone your craft. Some of us keep it as a hobby. Some of us take the insane leap of opening a taproom months before a worldwide pandemic. But almost all of us learn, with the aid of a local homebrew shop, in our kitchens and with the aid of other local homebrewers.
To celebrate that history, and our connection to the homebrew shop that got us going, we’re doing a collaboration brew with Micro Homebrew — . We’ve developed a recipe with them — a session IPA — that we’ll release as a 5-gallon homebrew recipe, while brewing the same on our 7bbl system.
Join us Saturday, May 16th, as we brew (Official morning start time TBD). Stop in to talk all things beer and homebrewing. Ask questions of our brewers and Corey from Micro Homebrew. Share your homebrewing stories. Make new friends. Enjoy free smells.
If you’re totally new to brewing, this is a great chance to give it a try. Corey can fill you in on everything you’ll need to get started. He’ll have the recipe ready to go if you wanna make this session IPA your first brew.
Cheers to 7 years in Mountlake Terrace (and many more in our kitchens)!
