Developed by brewers, for brewers. Thora is the first, publicly available hop variety released by Hop Quality Group.

We trialed it early-on, working with HQG to see how it performed the Yakima Valley. After years of feedback loops, trials in beers, and an official name, we’re excited for our first true commercially-sized harvest!

As soon as it hit the hooks and started filling the kiln this morning, a potent smell of passion fruit, resin, and other fruity notes filled the air around our facilities. It was unexpected and totally welcomed.

We can’t wait to put the sample on the table and really dig into it this year!

Two top cutters, one field, & whole a lot of hops!

Bye bye field behind the office 👋

Harvest 2026 — we’re ready for you! 🪩💪🌱

Hard work for the next six weeks but who says we can’t have a little fun while we’re at it? Come see us and let’s smell some hops together!

We’re about a week out from harvest, so we asked co-owner Eric Desmarais to walk us through the changes happening in the fields, how we check for maturity, & an outlook on this year’s crop. 👏

Fresh hop season is almost here! One of our favorite parts of harvest is the thrill of filling these bags early morning, stuffing them into the car or sometimes strapping them on top (😅), & seeing what the brewers whip up with with these little green cones.

This year, we have 18 varieties available:

Centennial
Zappa
Thora ⚡️
Cascade
Citra
Cashmere
Comet
Mosaic
El Dorado
Vista
Brewers Gold
Chinook
Elani
Sultana
Lotus
Calypso
Bravo
CTZ (Early)

Apricots are often seen as the less exciting little cousin to peaches.

But one bite of a tree-ripened Robada apricot bursting with sweetness might just change your mind.

Most of our stone fruit is field-packed, meaning it’s left on the tree a little longer to fully develop its sugars before harvest. The result is a sweeter, more flavorful fruit than you’ll typically find at the grocery store!

The hops are on the move! Time for a quick round robin of how it’s all looking.

Photos 1-3: A 2nd year El Dorado field with a few cones already popping up. Things are looking a little earlier than last year. 🍑🍐🍋

Photo 4: A baby ElDo field! 🌺

Photo 5: Centennial with our cover crop down the center row. Sudan grass is our go to & we plant it in the spring so it stays green all summer and into harvest. 🌱

Photo 6-7: Thora! It’s looking great this year. We’re anticipating an early/mid September pick. Can’t wait to start smelling those cones 🍹

Cherries are a quick, fleeting summer fruit only available for a short time. We have just a few acres, and our season is already wrapped up, but this is just the start! 🍒

Up Next: Finishing our apricots & starting our Red Haven peaches!🍑

Industry folks! Brewers, dealers, growers!

*Not for the general public.

Come party on Sept. 23rd for our 30th Anniversary! Shelley & Eric bought their first 100 acres in 1996 — the same year they got married.

Though we’re fifth-generation, the CLS Farms you know today started with their hard work spanning three decades. We’re celebrating what they’ve built, all of you that made it possible, and the future generations to keep it going.

Shuttles will be available and details to follow later this summer!

Apricot harvest is underway with our Robadas while we finish up the last bit of our cherries!

Our fruit farm helps provide year-round work for our crews when we’re not working on hops. It’s a smaller operation in comparison to our hops, but there’s nothing better than tree-ripened stone fruit in the summer. 🍒
