Acacia Powder
$4/lb
We purchased acacia powder in bulk for our dairy. We were using it in our chocolate milk recipe. We are selling our remaining inventory because we have shut down our dairy operation. We have 16 canisters, each containing about 34 pounds of powder. Acacia powder is also known as gum arabic.

Soft Start
$600
Automation Direct Stellar SR35 Soft Starter 65 AMP
We used this on our dairy with a vacuum pump that would draw 119 Amps briefly during startup. It allowed us to use the vacuum pump with a backup generator on a 50 AMP circuit. The soft start includes all the necessary components mounted to the panel as pictured except for the relay switch in the upper right hand corner. We are selling this because we have closed down our dairy operation. Included is the Quick Start Guide and the number to the service department at Automation Direct.

Hay Chopper
$4,500
Sperry New Holland Model 396 PTO driven (540 rpm) tub grinder hay chopper
We chopped large hay bales for three years with this on our dairy. We are selling it because we have closed down our dairy operation. We kept a makeshift cover over the tub, which is included if you want it. We kept the belt loose to keep it from pulling apart at the seam. If you want to raise the boom to full height it would be best to add a section or get a longer belt. The tractor we used to power this chopper is also for sale. The chopper comes with a couple of different screens (shown standing next to the tractor).

Tractor
$6,000
Allis Chalmers AC 7040 Tractor
This tractor was used on our dairy for three years primarily running a PTO hay chopper, which is also for sale. It has been a reliable tractor. It does have a transmission/hydraulic oil leak but we have just added more oil as needed. We are selling this tractor because we have closed down our dairy operation. Specs can be found here:

$10,000 for both tractor and hay chopper together

We have made the incredibly difficult decision to shut down operations at our dairy. This decision was made for personal reasons involving our health, competing demands for our time, and a conscience choice to not incur any additional debt.

We have built what we believe to be an incredible business that has served the demand for raw milk in North Idaho from Bonners Ferry down to Lewiston. However, the demand for raw milk has grown much more quickly than we anticipated. As we reached the capacity of our barn we had to reduce our delivery route. Continued increased demand simply requires further route cuts at this time.

As with many other businesses during this period of economic turmoil we have experienced problems with the supply chain, increased costs and labor shortages. There are solutions to these issues, just as there are solutions to expanding our capacity to meet increased demand. However, there are no solutions that do not run counter to the reasons given in our decision to shut down operations.

We are sad that we will no longer be able to help meet the demand for raw milk in the area. We have exhausted our leads to try and find a buyer for our dairy that would allow the business to continue. While potential buyers would be looking at a viable business, they would have to be able to provide additional capital going forward.

As we shut down operations, we will be selling off our herd. The reduced capacity will affect our ability to continue to deliver to stores. We will start discontinuing delivery to stores that do not sell as much milk and our further out on our delivery route.

We apologize to both customers and stores for the inconvenience caused by our decision.

Did we mention that we don't get on to facebook much?! We have been so busy bringing you wonderful milk that we haven't been very social. We have recently hired on a full team to help us, so I will post a picture as soon as I can persuade everyone to pose for a picture. We recently have had 5 new calves born so our production is up. Let us know if a store near you hasn't had enough milk lately and we can increase the amount we bring there.

We are still here and busy as ever. Merry late Christmas to everyone! You might have noticed that we don't have enough milk to go around lately. We are looking for between 4 and 6 new cows. If you have any leads, please let us know. They need to be Jersey, healthy, and currently in milk. We are willing to travel to pick them up. Thank you to everyone who supports our farm. We love providing super yummy milk to as many people as we can!
