Our Lainey girl is doing great and clearly we bonded over our time together in the bathroom floor because the only cow raised calf we’ve had that wants to play with us🩶

A bit over shadowed by the calf drama our final goatling of the season was born Monday and is cute as can be!

Well “I slept on the bathroom floor with a calf” was not something I ever planned to say but thats exactly how my Tuesday night went. Meet Lainey(maybe not sure if we’ve fully decided or not). She caught a chill after she was born and had to camp outside for several hours(heating pad, hair dryer, hot water baths) until she could hold her temp herself. Thankfully by the 24 hour mark she was doing much better and has been able to go back out with her mama and is now nursing on her own and acting like she never had an issue.

Well been waiting on this girl for what seems like forever! Everybody meet Remi! She was born Super Bowl Sunday night but it has been a struggle. But she is strong and got the will to live. Wouldn’t eat from for 2 days so we spent lots of time feeding every 4 hours or day and night. But thankfully she is nursing on her own from the mom and everyone is happy and healthy!

🐐 The first kids of the season are finally here, despite being quite overdue.

Nigerian Dwarf goats typically have a gestation period of 145 days, with a standard range of 142-148 days. Although they can safely go up to 162 days, going past 150 days is uncommon.

My beloved mischief maker, Millie, has decided to give birth on day 152, which is 7 days past her due date.

To put this into perspective in human terms, it would be like giving birth two weeks after your expected due date.

The vision of a windmill on our farm took root long before the farm became a farm, back when it was just a hope and dream. Countless conversations every time we spotted one in an old farm field or during a farm store visit. “Oh look at one” or “Have you seen the windmill at the feed store?”

Well the guys have now turned that vision into a stunning reality over the past week. As of last night, our landscape is forever changed by a beautiful 15’ windmill.
