Today we transplanted strawberries from the old garden spot to the new raised beds. They are very resilient! Once in their new bed and watered, they sprang right back up like nothing ever happened.
We also planted onions, chamomile, echinacea and lemon balm.

We are growing potatoes y’all!! First for us. ☺️.

So was broody but since there’s no male here it wasn’t going to end the way she hoped. I couldn’t stand to see her just sitting there so we got her a couple of babies. She seems to be pretty pleased. Day one was a bit overwhelming so they slept in the brooder. Today they came out to play.

Since Tractor Supply in Arkansas requires you to purchase chicks in groups of six (I know…weird) we got four new little chickens to go with the two geese. We got two Midnight Marans and two Buff Orpingtons.

Well, big news on our little farm today. is now . She has been broody for a week or so. Since we don’t have a male, the efforts would have proved futile. We did put some chicken eggs under her, but I’m a sucker and thought this might be better. She accepted them readily and is now hanging out with them in the coop. I’m hopeful and optimistic.

Farm life. I saw one of the hens running across the yard with something in her beak. She had a trail of hens chasing her. I had to go see what it was. Lol. She had a little snake. She finally outran everyone and got to enjoy her treat undisturbed.

What happens when your rooster decides he wants to be the boss of everybody? Including us? You pick him up and cuddle him. A little extra love. I carried him around and petted him and talked to him. When I put him down he wanted to get as far away as possible 😆😆. You can tell by looking at him that he was thrilled.
