All things considered… yes the general tags, overwhelming permits, and stamps get exhausting and expensive. Deer hunters, small game/waterfowl hunters, and trappers alike GLADLY foot the bill for ANYONE to enjoy what New Jersey (still) has to offer on our state parks and wildlife management areas. Keep in mind, hunters pay left and right to use those areas, the general public can come and go as they please free of charge. Keeping the deer herd in check should never be questioned, along with all other species throughout our state. Keep rural NJ rural, support your hunting family/neighbors, maybe donate to fish and game sometime if you do not participate in outdoor opportunities.

Why NJ Deer Hunting is Critical

We have an estimated 115K white-tailed deer in NJ. If they were spread evenly across the state, that would be about 13 deer per square mile.

In a healthy herd, 70%- 90% of adult does get pregnant every year. Most give birth to twins. Each doe produces about 1.5-2 fawns every year.

After the winter, cars, predators, disease, and hunting, the herd still grows by 30%-40% every year. Roughly 34K to 46K new deer are born every single year.

Deer hunting is NOT a "hobby" or a "trophy sport". It's wildlife management and a clean, viable food source.

A typical NJ deer provides about 40 to 60 lbs of usable venison. Last season, NJ hunters harvested 39,255 deer, producing roughly 1.6 to 2.3 million pounds of meat that feeds families across the state.

Hunters do the work AND they pay for it. Fewer than one percent of New Jersey residents hunt (about 70K people statewide), yet they generate nearly $9M a year in license and permit revenue that goes directly into wildlife management. That pays for conservation officers, habitat protection, wildlife research, and the management of our Wildlife Management Areas.

Deer hunters keep roads safe, herds healthy, feed families, and contribute their time and finances to help the State of New Jersey.

All NJ legislators need to know the facts, and do everything in their power to support and preserve deer hunting in New Jersey.

Our freezer is getting full, and will be jam packed by the end of the day. To ensure we keep everything as organized as possible on our end, as well as getting everyone all of their orders… PLEASE COME GET YOUR DEER FROM SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, AND NOVEMBER. We stay open the entire season as other shops open and close due to getting jammed up or just too much work to ensure their level of quality. We do not want to have to turn people away because our freezer is full from MONTHS ago. We are trying our best to make sure our quality and efficiency is 100% while being EXTREMELY busy.

We call multiple times and leave messages. Please come get your cuts!

New Jersey’s 6-day firearm is this week! Normally we have our porkette sandwich day on the Saturday of “Buck Week”, but this year we are pushing it back to SATURDAY, JANUARY 10th! Feel free to come out, grab a sandwich, and hang out a little bit! Open to all customers old and new!

We are open per usual, and accepting deer all week. Please be patient with us calling to let you know if your deer is processed. December/early January is an extremely busy time for us. We are cutting almost everyday of the week, and try to call customers as quickly as possible. Trust me, we need the space sometimes, and need these orders out of the freezers faster than they went in! Thank you for your patience ahead of time!

We are looking forward to what this week brings, as we have pretty good weather for most of it. Such a great opportunity to take a kid hunting and off the screens!!!!
