Member Monday!
This week we have Loyal Cutforth.
“I am retired. We rent our farm land to good friends and neighbors. We have fruit trees. I love to garden. I grow tomatoes, green beans, melons and sweet corn. We preserve and freeze the fruit and vegetables. We share tomatoes and melons with friends who don't have a garden. We put a small vegetable stand in our front yard. There are no prices. We encourage a donation, and people are very generous.
We have been Farm Bureau members for over 40 Years and served on the Delaware Co. board for over 30 years. Being members has allowed us to meet a lot of people throughout Delaware county, and many have become friends. We appreciate Farm Bureau for its strong support of agriculture and of traditional family values.”

Joe Russell is a sixth generation farmer, he follows in the footprints of his family that started farming in Indiana Territory in 1810. Today Joe and his wife Sharon, grow corn and soybeans with his two sons in northern Delaware County. Joe joined Farm Bureau in 1977 because the collective wisdom and voices of the members help solve problems beyond his farm. He’s been on the board for many years and honored to serve as an officer for many of those years. “My membership in Farm Bureau is one of the best investments I’ve made for my farming operation.”

“I've served on the state Young farmer committee, and been on the board since 2003. I believe we as farmers need to be engaged in telling our stories and educating the public and our lawmakers about modern production agriculture. Indiana Farm Bureau is a trusted organization for this.”
